Belgian brothers Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike have come a very long way in a very short period of time. In just 2 years, they’ve bypassed the usual steps to making it big by proving they have super-star quality in everything they do. They are sought after producers, remixers to the A-list elite and number 1 hit makers. The accolades they’ve clocked up within this relatively short time are equal to those some DJ stalwarts amass during a lifetime!

Kings Of Tomorrowland And Beyond

In 2010, Dimitri and Mike were commissioned by one of the most creative forces on the planet, ID&T, to provide the official theme tune for the Belgian mega-festival Tomorrowland. Their collaboration with Dada Life and Tara McDonald, Tomorrow Give In was pure dynamite, so much so that when Tomorrowland 2011 came onto the horizon, the duo were the only choice for event organisers. The Way We See The World, co-produced with Grammy Award-winner Afrojack and Australian pop royalty NERVO, shot straight to the top of the Beatport Charts and remained there for weeks, cementing the pair’s undeniable hit-making prowess. But the Tomorrowland singles aren’t the brothers’ only anthems. The burgeoning duo are highly accomplished producers with a string of top-flight results to their name. They scored N°1 in Belgium with Liquid Skies, and their version of Pump Up The Jam with Technotronic on Refune was one of the most heavily supported tracks of the year. The pair saw 2011’s Generation X signed to Size Records, Madagascar released on their own Smash The House imprint, while their remake of Amé’s Rej has hit all the right notes with an army of A-list supporters. With even more huge tracks waiting to explode upon the latter part of 2011 and a debut album firmly in the pipeline, it seems speed of the pair’s rise to the top is only on the increase.

The Remix Masters

In 2009 their remix of Work That Body gathered global media attention and sparked the interest of label boss Axwell, who immediately commissioned them for Abel Ramos’s Rotterdam City of Love. The success that came with this remix topped every major download chart in the world, and with this, the requests came flooding in. Everyone from Tiesto to Snoop Dogg fell under the spell of Dimitri and Mike, and their interpretation of Leave The World Behind by Axwell, Angello & Ingrosso ft Laidback Luke & Deborah Cox, became the soundtrack to Ibiza 2009, as the Swedes relentlessly hammered it every week at their Dark Forest residency. This led to Sebastian Ingrosso name checking them as “Breakthrough Producers of the Year” in the coveted DJ Magazine. From there it’s only ever been upwards, with remixes for some of the biggest artists – chart-toppers LMFAO (Champagne Showers), Benny Benassi (Close To Me) and Jennifer Lopez (Papi) have all requesting the talents of Dimitri and Mike.
