It's too easy, perhaps bordering on disrespectful, to look at emo nowadays purely with nostalgia-tinted black-rimmed specs. There are so many bands still making music great enough to push the genre forward and we should all be riding that wave. Saosin, with a rejuvenated and sober Anthony Green (pictured above), just released the stunning new single 'Racing Toward A Red Light' (with a new studio record out May 2nd) whilst long-time Last.fm favs Taking Back Sunday continue to release songs with bigger choruses than most bands could dream of writing and are in the studio right now doing more of what we've come to expect from them.
Which leads us to a tour such as Taste of Chaos - a tour intent on delivering the best in the genre to throngs of fans throughout the US. This year the tour is headed up by scene-daddies Dashboard Confessional and the aforementioned Taking Back Sunday, joined by Saosin and The Early November. Running from June 3rd in Chicago, IL through to July 16th in San Bernardino, CA, you can see the full list of dates here
