A lot of the "woman with a guitar" genre starts to sound the same to me after a while--a little too self-indulgent, a little too sappy, verging on the cliche. Chris's compositions are alternately punchy and tear-jerkingly moving without being sentimental; her lyrics are the same. I like her way better than Ani, even better than Joni.
