To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Cotti and Cluekid. The music is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of musical theory most of the chords will go over a typical listener's head. There's also Cotti's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from South London subculture, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the auditory capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these tunes, to realize that they're not just underground- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Cotti and Cluekid truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Cotti's existential catchphrase "Number One Chapmion," which itself is a cryptic reference to SMR's epic CHAMPION (NUMBA 1). I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Adegbenga Adejumo's genius wit unfolds itself.
