Novella Matveeva (Russian: Новелла Матвеева) (Detskoye Selo, Russia, 7 October, 1934 - 5 September 2016) was a Russian bard (singer-songwriter), poet, writer, screenwriter, dramatist, and literary scientist. Her first collection of poetry was publishhed in 1961, the same year she was admitted to the Union of Soviet Writers. Since the end of the 1950s, Novella Matveyeva has been composing songs to her poetry and performing them, accompanying herself on a seven-string guitar.
