As an epic house composition, Clockwork followed deadmau5's track Brazil (Second Edit) on the BBC Radio 1 Essential Playlist that aired 7-19-2008. The track follows a cyclical chord progression that never resolves, but instead rotates through it's scale and repeats each octave. This exact chord progression was used by Henry Purcell for a funeral procession, as well as in the movie, Clockwork Orange, with the title "The Orange Theme" which was also remixed: The Orange Theme.
