Chris Karrer (born Christoph Karrer in Kempten, Germany, on 20 January 1947; died 2 January 2024) was a German guitarist and composer remembered as the co-founder of the Amon Düül commune and as a member of the related, and much more commercially successful, project Amon Düül II, and for his collaboration with Embryo. Also playing oud, saxophone and violin, he was known for film scores such as for Syberberg's San Domingo; he was awarded the Deutscher Filmpreis for film music in 1971. He released is debut eponymous album in 1980.
