The best thing about Wage against the Machine was that all the bogans were in the one arena together. Lucky Bjork missed that gig! Im sure she would have been bottled. I feel sorry for the other RATM fans that arent thugs having to witness that. Poor little homophobes were freaked out by The Arcade Fire and Silverchair. LCD Soundsystem were great as it was a meathead free zone!

Like nicdogz, British India and The Arcade Fire were the stand-outs for me. Rage Against The Machine were no better than Silverchair, both were dull and uninspiring.

[artist]Bridezilla[/artist] were actually pretty good, it was awesome when [artist]The Nightwatchman[/artist] and [artist]Anti-Flag[/artist] played a cover of [track artist=Midnight Oil]Beds Are Burning[/track]. [artist]Silverchair[/artist]... lol the entire D mosh kept booing them off and chanting RAGE RAGE RAGE and FUCK OFF!!! every time David demanded that Sydney screamed for him. Rage wa

battles was the stand out by so far its ridiculous, rage was probably the best to see, just because watching 50 000 people say fuck you at the same time is some powerful stuff, but seriously, battles were the best band of the day. far and away.

Unkle was easily the highlight of my day... kinda dissapointing to see the lack of unkle love around here though

anti-flag were fucking terrible, combining the left-wing ideological banter of the MC5 with the vocal harmonies of the Misfits does not make you a great band...

Anti-Flag all the way man, so much fun. How hilarious was the Cut Off Your Hands frontman as well, he was all over the place...

Anyone catch Bridezilla? Not terrible, but I reckon Blue King Brown would've been more fun.

Speaking of wankers, anyone see Augie March? Quote: We'll play 'One Crowded Hour' as long as you don't fuck off straight away. Almost everyone did though! Hahaha

yeah battles were fucking awesome, especially after billy bragg! i think the thing that got to me the most after his HAVENT YOU EVER SEEN FOLK MUSIC BEFORE (wanker) comment was how he said that BDO was just a rip off copy of glastonbury. FUCK glastonbury! christ, you wouldn't say that about lollapalooza or splendour or falls! what a tosser. he really was just a miserable old git.

I'm really surprised at the general negative response The Nightwatchman's been getting. I loved every minute of his performance.

haha i totaly agree with xyg i had the misfortune of hearing all of his set, what a boring old twat but battles more than made up for that, they were fucking incredible, as were LCD soundsystem later on

xyg: Thank oh you soo much for saying that! Having some bastard on stage moaning about education and politics is one thing, but when he had a go at the crowd waiting for Battles I fucking lost it. But next to Battles performance, he looked like nothing more than a bitter old cynic humming show tunes.

I'm dirty about missing No Cars Go! But Seeing all of Battles was worth it, that's a big statement given that AF is my favourite band (Plus I also saw AF at the Enmore on tuesday)

cheapheat: maybe an instrumental segue, yet from what I know it was Wake Up then Keep The Car Running. I remember discussing possible setlists with the guy next to me, and he guessed the second track as KTCR. Acharis: both the Battles crowd and most of the Orange Stage outfield crowd were excellent. Not the most lively crowds there (Cut Off Your Hands' crowd wins that one) but still a good vibe.

Declare Independence? That was a Bjork track, in tribute to the performance missed, I guess. And dude, you missed Wake Up, Keep The Car Running and No Cars Go! I left early from Battles (after Tonto), just to make sure I'd get a good spot for Atrcade Fire, though it meant I had to handle five minutes of Silverchair.

After Ocean of Noise I think it went: Tunnels, Well & Lighthouse, Antichrist TV Blues, Power Out & Rebellion. I only got there during Haiti, was in too much of a daze after seeing Battles to get there in time for the start. Does anybody know what that cover they did was (I think it was after Intervention)? Or was it one of their EP tracks?

i left arcade fire after ocean of noise to go see brand new, what songs did they play after that? i heard neighbourhoods #1 from outside but that's all. did they have the big screens and the power out intro like they did on wednesday? that was amazing. the sound issue wasn't their fault, just the amp system, but it may have been because i was in the stands that the acoustics weren't too great.

I thought The Arcade Fire were brilliant for the main stage! I agree that the enmore is a better suited environment for them and their sound but they pulled it off. The into into Power Out with that mad texan on the screens swearing about god and money and the final lullaby like oo oo ooooo at the conclusion to Rebellion was mind blowing!

no one has mentioned brand new. amazing performance, since everyone was at arcade fire or ratm it was intimate too without crowds. did anyone else think that the stadium atmosphere really didn't suit arcade fire? i felt there was too much reverb and especially during ocean of noise, it all kind of smashed together and the magical delicacy they delivered at enmore was lost. regardless, awesome day.

ZDLR's voice was off, I thought. More screaming than actual singing/rapping. Really noticable during Sleep now in the Fire and Renegades of Funk as well. Still, was worth it just to jump around like a 10-year-old delinquent during Killing In The Name. Battles and Blue King Brown owned the day imo. Will post photos soon.

Battles = The single most astonishing thing to ever happen to music - they sent me to another world on the green stage! But also, Arcade Fire, LCd Soundsystem, British India, Regurgitator and of course RATM. It was an amazing day!
