I just checked every last.fm user that I follow archers of loaf libraries and aside from user DeckCardShufflr and DXP, everybodies top track is Web In Front. Is there anybody here whose favorite loaf song is not WIF, and why do you have the wrong opinion?

Also, try The Speed of Cattle - it's a compilation of sorts, but it contains some of their best non-album songs like Telepathic Traffic and Ethel Merman. I love Vs. and ATNA, but The Speed of Cattle is my all time favorite.

Stunning band, really, overshadowed at the time by Husker Du and The Replacements. But it's never to late to love a band.

Sorry dude, I've been searching also for an AOL alike sounding band but still haven't found any. Got to say that most of the indie of then & now really can bore the shit out of me, but AOL just got these special sounds which are great. Harnessed In Slums, The Lowest Part Is Free, ... What you can do is check out some skateboard videos, maybe you'll find some good music like AOL. That's how I got to know 'em, the Element skateboard video "Elementality vol. 1".

Decided to check in on the group to see if any of you had heard any tidbits on new material...oh well...we can always hope. Any more reunion shows? Only got to see them the one time in the mid-90s and they so kicked my ass. Looking for similar artists? all the recommendations I've seen are from bands that were in the same scene but AOL had a sound very much of their own and I've yet to hear anything else out there that fills my AOL cravings. The guitars were definitely inspired from what Polvo was doing, but then went for hooks aplenty and Eric has such an awesome world-weary voice. The new remasters have been a great listen...

I agree pavement never really has done it for me.. bores me .. i like their style of music. but doesnt grab me. Archers far superior. very undercelebrated. Glad to hear they have reformed. :) Trying to talk them into coming to aussie.. They said maybe in 2013
