Solitary 2 serves as Autumn!’s first major release of 2024, performing as the official sequel to his December 2020 EP, Solitary, and a forerunner to his upcoming mixtape, Pretty Girls & Fast Cars.
After failing to keep his promise to release Pretty Girls & Fast Cars, Autumn! first confirmed Solitary 2 through an Instagram story where he mentioned that he would drop a new EP before his album, and explained that he had to cut his European tour short due to family issues the he prioritized.
That same day, Autumn! would take to Instagram stories confirming the official title of the EP would be a sequel to Solitary. The next day, he would then take to his story again establishing the EP’s length with the assertion, only to retract that statement with another post, correcting his mistake.
On March 30, 2024, Autumn! confirmed through another Instagram story that he had uploaded the EP and would officially confirm that it would be on it’s way for release.
On April 2, 2024, Autumn! revealed through Instagram stories that the EP would be set for release on April 11, however the next day, through a pre-save link Autumn! posted, the EP is set to be released on April 16, as well as the EP’s artwork being revealed.
When the EP was officially released, ten new tracks were revealed to the public, with “Uptown Coolin!” being the lead single, released on February 15, 2024, originally to be the concluder to Pretty Girls & Fast Cars, now being the concluder to this EP.
Solitary 2 officially released on April 16, 2024.
