What kind of sappy nonsense is the new album? I fell in love with them after Brace, which was quite heavy, but Human Design sounds like Keane's bastard child. I get that Kenny had a divorce, but man, this is kinda embarrassing. You are a rock band, for Christ's sake, not a boy-band.

Yep :( I feel ya mate, it should have been a solo album for Ian. It just doesn’t sit well with me knowing that album was done under the Birds of Tokyo name. Personally I don’t consider it a Birds of Tokyo album at all. I miss the era of the first 3 album, especially Universes and Day One but Brace was such a nice welcome after March Fires. Above / Below is also one my top favourite birds songs after Broken Bones

didnt get me as karnivool did, but ians voice is just amazing, i wish would sing in a math band like invalids, these town needs guns or even don cab. not that i dont the singer of these bands, but ian has so amazing lines sometimes, makes me wonder how he'd do it in a totaly rhytmic "chaos". he'd surley had some great melodies to sing over 9/7-rhythms ;)

Definitely prefer the Karnivool side of Ian...but I do like his voice, so I may give these a fair go....sounds a bit too poppy for me though.

Ian Kenny is in this as a side project!? This is as bland as Coldplay...should definitely stick with Karnivool.

There is a flock of birds flying south for the winter. One bird is leading them. He says, "First we're going to Mexico for the fruit, beaches, and good times. Then we're going to Rio for the carnival, sunrises, and cakes. After that, Peru. Y'all will like all three."

Lol if you think that why do you waste your time going to the page of a band you dont like. And what we listen to is our concern.

Just started listening to them. I love the 'dreamy type' albums so I think March Fires is just GREAT! <3

the new cd is just fine people. geez.. relax. they have moved on to a more dreamy type sound and got away from the overplayed garage/grunge/emo sound. yes i said emo. cause that first ep is horrible. i mean cant you tell by the new cd cover alone they going for a more dreampop sound. here's to hoping they push it even further the next cd.

Little underwhelmed on first listen of new album. Can't hear the rock edge, like previous efforts. And the music just doesn't stand out much. Its a overloaded with vocals. [2] My opinion as well. the 2010 Album was just epic.

Seems that Birds Of Tokyo are slipping more and more into the generic radio fodder territory. I liked the new album for what it's worth, a dull trip of decent songs that try way too hard to sound like Coldplay (another band that are really becoming uninteresting for me). Don't get me wrong, there are good moments. Even some songs sound like Youth Lagoon (I love that band). There is just nothing interesting at all to be had on March Fires. It sounds like commercial music marketed for mass appeal. This album just makes me really want another Karnivool album even more.

I love all their previous albums but this one...man, this one IMHO is so boring and repetitive that it's hard to believe it's still Birds of Tokyo. And what is worst, Ian's voice got so washed out of any emotions that it hurts.
