"and if my thought dreams could be seen, they'd probably put my head in a guillotine" one of the realest lines ever

"...the song features some of Dylan's most memorable images, although some people feel it has too many words." LOL.

Quite possibly the best song Dylan ever wrote. The only other songs I can think of that are in the same league are A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall, Desolation Row, Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands, and maybe Masters of War. And yes, these are unquestionably some of the best lyrics of all time.

Listening to Mr Dylan's 5th album "Bring It All Back Home" released March 22.1965. Dylan started to distance himself from the protest and folk. This album was considered a new era in the evolution of Mr Dylan's music and music of the 60s in general.

If my thought-dreams could be seen, they'd probably put my head in a guillotine.

and it all ends with "but it’s alright, Ma, it’s life, and life only." is this not the most bob dylan of all of bob dylan's songs?

it literally is, since it has his favourite verses of his own, the first four of the song
