their 2021 record is fantastic, best since "the latest" in 2009. Few groups can write hooks like these guys.

Ken Masters's background theme song in Street Fighter II sounds so similar to Mighty Wings from the Top Gun soundtrack. I read that the composer of the theme song found in SFII was asleep while watching Top Gun and then as a result, he composed that theme song. That's why Ken's theme song sounds like Mighty Wings, allegedly.

I'm glad that Surrender and I Want You To Want Me were so popular, since they deserve popularity, but it saddens me that they're so underrated as an band, with their actual albums slept on. Their albums should be lauded as muchb as their hit singles were.

For real, same can be said about a lot of groups. Their diehard fans listen to it all, while the FM radio fans only know a handful of songs. Sad reality we live in considering you can literally stream anything from anyone instantly, yet the choose to listen to the same songs over and over and over and over...

You and I are very much alike! I love to play entire discographies of groups, get into their solo albums, side projects, etc... and its great to know others are always searching for hidden gems as well!

They wrote better Beatles songs than the Beatles ever could, and mixed it with a hard rocking middle America sound. One of the most underrated bands of all time hands down.

I like them too and yes they're underrated, but c'mon they didn't write better songs than the Beatles.

Really high listener count for not all that many scrobbles. I.E. people listen to one or two of their big songs and are missing out on their amazing albums.

using last.fm as a guide for popularity is misdirected. they are and have still been touring with thousands of people attending each show, as well as having over 4 million monthly listeners on spotify, with their most popular songs having millions or tens of millions of listens, with surrender topping nearly 130 million

Are You Ready? is on Spotify, a Dec '79 live show at the LA Forum, during their commercial peak. Terrific.

Дисторшена у них и нет, максимум овердрайв. Ну и кому вообще придёт в голову ожидать харда от Чип Трик... Группа хорошая.

It almost feels like Cheap Trick get taken for granted a little bit when conversations about all time greatest rock acts arise. Maybe because for over 40 years, they’ve always been around & can still go at a high level. They’re most definitely worthy of being in that conversation imho.

I knew of them for years, but never had the opportunity to scrobble them or even listen to them without scrobbling them. I was introduced to them by a radio Internet rock show by Dr. Fukk. I really was digging Gonna Raise Hell (my favorite song by them so far). I had to get a few of their albums. I really dig 'em and I plan on listening to them for a long time.

You can't go wrong with any of their first five albums. Also, Rockford and The Latest are great albums as well.

One of my favorite bands of all time. They don't seem to ever age. They are so good live, so much energy! Their songs are so fun and catchy, I don't know how you can't like them.

At Budokan broke Cheap Trick into the mainstream and was hugely popular, and is considered by many to be the definitive CT album. It was originally released in Japan, and for some reason, it became the biggest import for its time. The record company soon released a domestic version, and sold millions. As a longtime fan, I was caught by surprise. Until then, Cheap Trick was a "best kept secret" sort of band. (At Budokan somewhat sabotaged the band's next album, Dream Police, by featuring some its songs. Dream Police's impact was diluted, IMO, although many songs did play extensively on FM radio.)

The new songs will be awesome live. Rick really pulls out the stops on this one. Cheap Trick is one of the best live bands you'll ever see.

@militarytwostep: While that is a great song, you're doing yourself a massive disservice to the rest of their stuff.
