They are slowly becoming my favorite male vocal group (or band) of all time. The true --and unsung--fathers of the modern R&B of the past 30 years, hands down.

I cannot get enough of Commissioned. They have broken the mold on the traditional gospel sound and proven any style of music can be used to praise and give honor to the Lord. Their Reunion dvd is awesome and is a must-have for all Commissioned lovers. I thank them for using their gifts to spread the word of the Lord.

i can't believe they only have 9,000 listners! how is that! any 30+ year old who grew up in the church has to have them on heavy rotation (wishful thinking on my part)

Commissioned will always occupy a special place in the heart of Gospel music lovers who listened to their anointed ministry from the 1980's to their last cd in 2002. Their songs helped us get over some things, get through some things, gave us power to overcome some things, and strength to deny some things. They called us to get intimate with God, get POWER from God, and give praise and worship to God! Their music is classic, their influence is unquestioned-every boy group in the late 80's and early 90's borrowed from their harmonies, musicianship and beats (especially from Number 7)-and their legacy remains strong. They, along with the Winans, the Clark Sisters & Andrae' Crouch, ushered in the modern contemporary sound of Gospel that has been expounded upon by Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Deitrick Haddon, Tye Tribbet & Hez Walker. Their contribution to the genre is immeasurable! I still play and love their music!
