I was angry at first but, no worries people: DX: On the new record "Batty Boys" you out Batman and Robin as homosexuals. What would you say to the accusation that that's a homophobic record? DOOM: I don't know what I would say. It's not about homos. It's about Batman and them. They just happen to be homos. It's a story about Batman and it's like I got a personal beef with Batman, or I'll say the character DOOM, has a personal beef with Batman. Like remember the beef with DMX and Ja Rule ? The character DOOM is just in the realm of comics, so his competition is Batman and these guys. And that nigga's a homo, so he's gonna say he's a homo. They ain't saying there's nothing wrong with being a homo. I'm not homophobic, I got friends that's homo. I'd say to the homos it's no big deal, I'm just teasing. I'm a nigga, how about that? You know how much shit I get? It's good to get conversations started like that. I did that intentionally so we could start talking about these kind of things.

sadly, this is dooms style. i dont hear any difference from his other/past work. i mean he can only rap his way. the only thing that is different is the topic of the song. so if homosexuality bothers u then just admit it and stfu. this tracks is so good. where on the track does it say "i am doom and i hate gays" maybe i was listening to the wrong song. u have to be genuinely neutral to appreciate this song. do some of u guys here even appreciate this song? i mean the intro alone is freakin priceless, how they freaked the batman theme, dont get me started on the lyrics. but finally the batman robin things is not new by far. so why is doom blatantly homophobic for putting his spin on it? "green goblin got the bat cave robbed. bust in batman head bobbing slobbing robins knob." u people seriously need to address your own issues with homosexuality period

Well its creating discussion and evoking people to react, whether in a positive or negative way is down to each individuals personality, some people find it jovial and dont mind laughing at themselves, some people take it personally and it connects with ill feelings they have, at the end of the day id rather listen to music that means something and creates reaction than just listening to empty, doleful music that tries to keep everybody happy and sells shit loads of cds. what it comes down to is, if you dont like it then dont listen, i mean if it puts a smile on people faces far be it from me to stop them enjoying it. I have gay friends, they think its too daft to find critical, there again they dont take life too seriously.

hip hop throughout its origins is all about comenting, or in this case disrespecting particular groups of people, its what makes good hip hop interesting and progressive, its about causing discussion, its about looking at ourselves and making a rhyme from it, its about being able to take critisim on the chin. company flow targeted the politically ignorant, sole and sage francis the right wing and conservative, talib kwali at times targeted white people, about 75 percent of all main stream hip hop targets women, man if you want to hear something offensive, check out necros track on "origins" about michael jackson......me personally, i think lifes too serious as it is, youve got to be able to laugh at yourself, all the great comedians do it....it makes life all that much sweeter.

...Like I said before its comic book humour. Comic Books and Jokes can be at times crude, satirical and provocative in there attempt to be funny... Comedy in general is littered with crudeness. Its a matter of treading a fine line between being outrageously funny or outrageously offensive. A dirty joke will undoubtedly make as many people laugh as it will offend, unfortunately thats that beauty and the beast of the art.

It's a joke, don't take it so seriously... Superheroes are generally camp, and you've got to admit the relationship between Batman and Robin is slightly questionable. I know the songs not "Politically Correct", and I confess at first I thought it was a little harsh, but it is funny in a comic book kind of way - which is how I think it was intended, like all of his tracks really. (Sorry if this offends anyone, it's just an opinion)

Haha Dooms Classic Quote About The Song:"It's not about homos. It's about Batman and them. They just happen to be homos." -- Doom deconstructs his quasi-homophobic new song "Batty Boys". (via HipHopDX)

In the "Posing Chester, legs open, couldn’t stand worse All was missing was a bandanna and a man purse" line, he's talking about Superman.
