Not familiar to duke? Duke is more important to music & jazz than Miles Davis. Duke is the Beethoven of Jazz. Duke Ellington. You people only know bop - and usually the stuff after the 1940s. Too bad, jazz music has a history of excellence before Miles & Coltrane who are both very overrated.

it's not about be-bop or not; it's just three cats that are terrible. all three are legends of their time and resist any real assessment. now is Duke better in that context? well then we're just talking about favorites.
