Decided to give this album a chance and listen to it fully for the first time. When "Like Toy Soldiers" came on I thought, 'well I actually like this and the tracks before were not horrible either. Maybe everyone was just overreacting'. Right after that Eminem proved me wrong by making the 10 most pointless and dumbest songs of his career back to back to back. Oh my days

Mosh slaps but every track between that one and Spend Some Time is absolute corn.

I actually can't imagine how this must've sounded in 2004. Nothing in the preceding three albums hint that this level of stupidity would be coming

Honestly at first I thought this album was great, but a lot of the songs in the middle are absolutely jarring and unpleasant. Weird how a masterpiece like Mockingbird is on the same album as something like My 1st Single...

This album is very bipolar; jumping from his worst songs to some of his best. i'd give it a 4/10

Some of his greatest songs for sure. Most underrated Em album. Half of it is lame, other half fucking amazing.

Honestly, the album is amazing until track 7 starts playing. Then it all goes downhill. Encore would have been so much better as an EP.

Career low point. Never Enough is alright. Rain man is the only track where Eminem is actually funny. Encore/Curtains Down is pretty tight, Mockingbird's lazy in places, but the vividness more than compensates, Mosh is a respectable protest song, and Yellow Brick Road followed closely by Like Toy Soldiers is the album highlight, among the best shit that Eminem's ever released. If only the rest of the album sounded like those two. Unfortunately, the rest of the album is fucked up. Special shout out to Big Weenie for being Eminem's worst song ever (until "Stronger than I was" came out on MMLP2)

This is such an over-hated album, it's honestly really good, even Ass Like That had a point to it. I think people just hate cos it gets 'weird' at points

That's bullshit. Like Toy Soldiers, Never Enough, Mockingbird and the title track are far from garbage. Tracks 1-6 and 15-20 are all generally decent. Encore is flawed, mediocre and in some places, embarrassing but it's not nearly bad as some of you fools are making it out to be...

I hated this album even when I was an impressionable teenager who was obsessed with Eminem but never thought it to be worse than Relapse... having heard it again recently I will say with great confidence that this is worse than Relapse and is one of the worst albums I've ever owned... hot garbage from start to finish. Yellow Brick Road is the only decent song on it

We Made You and Bagpipes From Baghdad are pretty much identical to Big Weenie etc. in tone. Why should Relapse get a pass for its blunders/gross-outs germaddog7?! Eminem's sense of humor wasn't as stale in '04...
