“Sweet Creature” is about two people facing difficulties in their relationship. They take comfort in knowing they belong together despite all the arguments.
The song is the second official single from Harry Styles' debut self-titled solo album after “Ever Since New York,” released two weeks prior.
Harry Styles said during his Zach Sang Show interview: “‘Sweet Creature’ is definitely written about one person”. When asked if the song was written about a specific person, he answered: “In my opinion, I think most songs are written for one listener.”
