Jay will be part of a new album coming in early 2012 ... a Woodie Guthrie tribute called "New Multitudes" with Will Johnson, Anders Parker and Jim James.

Have you all listened to Rhett Miller's new stuff? If you're into it, this video is pretty rad: http://www.shoutfactory.com/av/rhett_miller/Rhett-I_Need_To_Know_Where_I_Stand-512K.mov

Check out the Live in Seattle album, it's a great representation of Jay Farrar's solo career. The songs are all played really well, Jay's voice is right on target, and the backing band is great. Good song selection as well. Try this album before trying any of the studio albums. The other live album "Stone, Steel and Bright Lights" may even be better, check them both out if you're able.l

Sebastopol and the very strong Terroir Blues are drastically underrated IMO and deserve a fair listen from anyone who claims to have liked Uncle Tupelo. Pair Jay's solo work with the two new Son Volt records and it's a body of work as solid as any in the 00s. Have seen Son Volt on both recent tours and have been pleased to see Jay offer up Voodoo Candle and a couple other solo tracks.
