Released October 2, 2012, this was the first track released off of Kid Cudi’s studio album, Indicud. The song is produced by Cudi himself.
The title is an allusion to Exodus 3:14 where God tells Moses “I am who I am.” This connection is draw upon throughout the song. Cudi and Chip use the phrase as a justification for their weed use: they love to get high, but that’s just who they are, and since God made them this way, there can be nothing wrong.
“Just What I Am” was certified platinum by the RIAA on January 26, 2016.
