I love how Barney disses the person who assumes he's out of his depth in the second verse. And the ambiguity of the situation that's "dealing in the limits"; a love that burns too brightly? Shady coke dealers? Both? Brilliant song all around.

"Just wait til tomorrow...I guess that's what they all say... ...just before they fall apart" UTTER BRILLIANCE.

I love how Barney/The Narrator responds to the other party - who assumes he's out of his depth, probably due to his innocent face - in the second verse.

"Home is where the heart is," they say. I found this to be quite true --- even owning a house didn't really make me feel like I was suddenly at home. I've found that it's not so often the places that matter, but rather the people who are in (or absent from) those places that make or break a home... :-/

Anytime this song pops out on the radio, in my shuffle I am always starting to remember good old times. Last time it was in 2016. And today it happened again. Really warm and beautiful song.

I totally remember playing this song in Lumines II all the time! Didn't even know that it was New Order, until I suddenly heard it in a Spotify playlist :b

Is it a coincidence that on the cold, post-Christmas week of 13-20 January, Regret by New Order had a spike in listeners? Perhaps after the excess and inevitable emptiness that the holiday season leaves, they felt Regret captured their melancholy. Interestingly my first scribble took place on 18th January, 2012. Regardless, it is a beautiful song. Keep on rocking in the free world ;)
