I can't get over just how good the percussion track on Anasthesia Throne is, in terms of variation as well <3

I didn't like the samples I heard. I remember they reminded me of Big Truth a bit which is my least favorite Raunchy song.

How is this band so good? Most songs every second is like diamond melodies and musicianship.

Or actually that they were working on "new material". I hope this new material comes out some day. Just give us even an EP dammit!

Anasthesia Throne is among the best percussion tracks I've ever heard in rock and metal. Just mindblowing <3

I enjoyed this artist better than some of their contemporaries. It can be a little cheesy at times but its fun and well crafted. [2]

Vices.Virtues.Visions. is one of the first albums to challenge me this much in a really damn long time, and I don't even know why...really hoping it hooks me, though.

DPR is, imo, a fantastically consistent album, in fact i'd say none of their albums have that level of consistency in sound, songwriting or focus (though they do touch it and/or surpass it in passion and realization of their "own sound", i suppose one could argue and I wouldn't disagree)...

@Worm-Infested: I'd describe it as their most thickly atmospheric album because of that dirt. Confusion Bay was a complete contrast in terms of production; and I love that record a silly amount too. After Lars left; DPR I think is my least favourite of their albums. Kasper sounds quite sloppy on that album I think, probably just finding his voice, and the rest of it didn't seem so cohesive. Phantoms however was an emotive masterpiece. Wasteland Discotheque had a kind of stripped-down atmosphere to it that was quite plain, but every song was good. And The Comfort In Leaving I still regard as one of their best songs; that track is just amazing. ADE; Kasper finally found his place properly and sounded really, really good. Their mixing it up a bit in terms of sound really helped that record but Jeppe's clean vocals ended up sounding repetitive to me. And VVV...well, I think Mike sounds incredible no matter whether he's doing cleans or screams; and the atmosphere is really strong.

"What the hell happened. I took Raunchy for a mediocre band with some good moments. And then VVV came out and it's bloody awesome. Where did that come from?... " they've never been mediocre.... I mean, you can dislike them or their sound but they're in no way mediocre.

The new album is so good. Can't stop listening. Are they going to have a tour? There are none bad songs in Vices Virtues Visions!

@sancezz. I started listening to Raunchy with the song Twelve Feet Tall which came on a sampler featuring Soilwork, Meshuggah and In Flames... quite good company to be in around 2003 when it came out (was right about when Soilwork released FNF I believe), then I remember checking out the rest of it and I couldn't get into it that much. They've gotten progressively better over time imo. I guess it is a lot more raw and even a bit "industrial" which I like about it, but it's not the sound that I really want from the band so I've stopped caring about it over the years.

If you disregard the chorus Never Enough sounds like it is taken from Velvet Noise which is actually a good thing.

Love the new album. Actually I'm betting it could grow to be my favorite Raunchy album. From Discord Electric I disliked "Blue Prints for Lost Sounds" and "Big Truth". Pretty much the only meh track from the new one seems to be "Never Enough" because it's just generic. Not ruling it couldn't grow on me though. Castaway Crown, Anasthesia Throne and Clarity are some awesome stuff. Also the new singer is probably the best one they have had.
