Written by Bob Stanley, Pete Wiggs & Sarah Cracknell
Produced by Tore Johansson

Recorded Spring 1997
Released May 1998 on Good Humor

Notes The band wished this to be the second lead single from Good Humor after Sylvie but their record label, Creation, plumped for The Bad Photographer instead. During the UK tour in May '98, Sarah Cracknell announced that this would be the 3rd single but it never saw the light of day. Artwork was created, promo's were printed and a radio mix by Trouser Enthusiasts was completed (eventually released on Interlude) however Creation dropped the band shortly after.

"Working title was 'Jazz Odyssey' which says more about my lack of knowledge about jazz than anything else, we were probably obsessed with Spinal Tap at the time. There was an extra section to the verse which I remember being mildly annoyed about being cut - but am glad was now." (Pete Wiggs, 2010).

"‘Lose That Girl’ is a bitchy song,” nods Pete. “It is all about how small, trivial things can be symptomatic of a deeper malaise in a relationship. I started going out with a girl until I discovered her large Genesis record collection and that was the end of that.” (Pete Wiggs, 1998)

The original demo for this track was released on the fan club album, Nice Price.
