Well my trust in you is a dog with a broken leg. Tendons too torn to beg for you to let me back in.

probably the most heartbreaking song i've ever heard, somehow more so than anything from hospice

Having never listened to this song I'm just gonna assume it's a Weird Al-esque parody of AC/DC's "Givin' the Dog a Bone".

"sounds really sad and hopeless but the lyrics are actually optimistic.. " No, they aren't, at all, Silberman is basically saying to his SO put me out of my misery once and for all, I will eventually find someone, even though it's quite clear he doesn't believe that, the brilliant coda "put your trust in me, Im not gonna die alone" is just denial or a comforting lie to his partner so she can go on without guilt.

One of the only good songs on the album. Pretty big let down altogether though. Go from Hospice and In The Attic of the Universe to this. Very disappointing. I'm hoping the Antlers will be able to turn it around next release, though I did really like Undersea so that gives me hope.

This song rings true for people who've walked the path of cynicism and dread over a relationship. It's exquisite pain and dejection put into song.

This may be the saddest song I've come across in the last five years. Gripping album, gripping track.

[any song that says collarbone is a winner]² haha it's a strangely musical word that could stand to replace some of the endless tonights in lyrics.
