I should listen to Continue as a Guest a lot more than I have in the past year.

It's starting to grow on me a lot...but Twin Cinema is probably always going to be my favorite so I feel you.

Ooh, I totally disagree. It's a breath of fresh air for me! Neko and AC have such a haunted feel about them, without losing that New Porno magic in the instrumentals. Slowing it down sounds especially good in headphones, where all those layers get prime time to shine through each track! This is very quickly becoming one of my favorite albums by them!

My favorite thing about the New Pornographers is that they put out these amazing collections of tracks that I madly love, then announce a new album that I tell myself, "Alright, this one won't be as good. They're getting older, it's not gonna feel the same..." It never does feel the same, each album has its own vibe and feel to them, undoubtedly. However, I DO always seem to walk away from each project thinking, "DAMN! Okay, yah, they did it, again." The title track from the new album is precisely the point that brought me to write this little NP diary entry. Fuck. Yes. NPs.

For me it was Brill Bruisers that concurred me, and every other album since. Maybe I will revisit some of their earlier stuff. Was not crazy about Twin Cinema. Maybe I'll try Challengers next.

Brill Bruisers is such a banger! Yes! That was around the time I really started thinking they were gonna lose it. Dan was making his exit from the band around then, too. But yah, still love what they're putting out. Their first few albums definitely are high energy, and were extremely fresh sounding when they came out. NPs definitely inspired a lot of other bands during the 00's & 10's in the indie world.

наряду с foxygen, едва ли не лучшая инди-группа нулевых с точки зрения сонграйтинга, последний альбом так и вовсе ВНЕЗАПНО оказался едва ли не лучше дебютника.

One of the most consistent Bands I've had the pleasure of listening too, up there with Spoon, Little Dragon, and king Gizzard, ect, as far as Modern Music goes anyways.

They always put a smile on my face, new album is upbeat as always and shaping up to be one of their best I think. And plenty of Neko vocals so I'm particularly pleased.

Pretty really good. I feel like it might be the most cohesive album they've put together yet!

"Listening too long to one song" - or one album for that matter. TWIN CINEMA is just marvelous! One great tune after another. Splendid playing and singing. Very idiosyncratic and ornate, while absolutely inviting to hum along to at the same time. This masterpiece isn't slowing down at all, it's just perfect from start to finish. Can't get enough. :)

I saw them on their Together tour, in Columbus Ohio on the 13th of June 2010. The show went better than I expected, and it was my first paid-for concert. Oh, And I had a (roughly) 500 mile two-way trip to see them.

I feel so disgustingly spoiled listening to Brill Bruisers. I didn't even expect another album from them with the soaring success of Neko and Destroyer. I'm so damn happy that this album happened, and that I got to see them live, and that I got Pity Sex and Perfect Pussy as co-openers instead of The Pains of Falling Asleep While Standing Up

@AndrzFAL You're in for the best treat. I'd start with Twin Cinema, followed by Challengers. Then do Electric Version & Mass Romantic. Save the later ones for last! The new album rocks my world. They can do no wrong in my eyes.

New album is so great... They're one of the best bands ever... AndrzFAL, I'd suggest starting with Electric Version or Twin Cinema, but their entire discography is great.

Someone I know wrote a review of Brill Bruisers and it would be very polite if you could click on the link to promote web traffic to this swaddling website: http://staticdistance.com/2014/08/25/review-the-new-pornographers-brill-bruisers/
