The band that got me into post-punk, I agree with most people in this shoutbox, truly underappreciated.

Exactly! Most artists will never reach a wide audience, because people are too lazy to look for other music outside the modern charts (not all people, but some for sure).

i absolutely underestimated them compared to other post punk bands, the atmosphere in their songs (FTLM especially) is top-notch. worthwhile giving their discography a run

"Shimmer" is so sweetly heartbreaking. Sounds like something you've known for your whole life but you obviously haven't. Literally Borland in a nutshell - a potential hit that was not even released and included anywhere officially and was abandoned till 2010s.

The fact that they were simply outstanding live makes the whole situation even more ridiculously unfair. Just listen to "In The Houthouse" Live LP and tell me that I'm wrong. They were meant to be huge, *at least* at Simple Minds level. Incredibly crafted pop songs, commercially appealing sound (no puns here). "Sense Of Purpose" and "Heartland" were supposed to make crowds of thousands go crazy. Instead of this we have a completely opposite reality in which you ask Londoners (with youth spent in the 80s) about The Sound and they respond with "never heard of 'em".

I discovered this band just about three months ago, they always were around and as a big fan of post-punk scene I was aware about them and that was all. And I still remember first listening of "Winning" so much emotion, strange connection between myself and Adrian, no border between an artist and listener, some strange kind of bond, empathy and understanding, the same thing with many of their songs. You'll be forever missed Adrian, you gave me some new impressions during hard and full of boredom days.

Although I really enjoyed it and found inspirational, it is really disappointing that Second Layer was not mentioned at all.
