The Toobes formed in Minsk (Belarus) by the boys who at that time were 17 to 23 y.o.: Stas Lomakin – drums & lead vocals, Konstantin Pyzhov – guitar, Stas Murashko – bass & vocals. Band plays an explosive mixture of hard rock & rock’n’roll; all tracks are bands’ own.
British musician Tricky, being introduced to the band’s debut album “Hello” in 2009, reflected: “It's very exciting – The Toobes are the best band that I have heard in years and they don't come from where many would expect… like America or the UK".
The Toobes are expressive and dynamic, it is a professional live performance that comes from extensive stage experience. The audience is drawn by powerful positive energy of band members. "Loud rock music intensifies burst of energy and causes euphoria!" – this is an ultimate and very true motto of every band’s performance. There’s hardly an indifferent person after The Toobes show: the older ones deep into their recollections of younger times; for those unfamiliar with the music of 1960es the band is a discovery of rock’n’roll.
First success of The Toobes dates back to Jan. 2009 when the band won "BandScan" contest and toured Sweden, proving its high abilities to create a memorable show and to drive the audience.
Debut album “Hello”, mixed and released in 2009 году on band’s own, is remarkable in its emotional sincerity and unexpected maturity. Musicians in their early 20es do know – what and how to play. They do not sound like rock rookies at all, which puzzles music critics.
Second album titled "My Generation" was released in 2011. Album title was not selected randomly: The Toobes truly are the new generation of rock’n’roll. Media frequently reacted to "My Generation" with lines like: “They play their instruments as if life on Earth depends on their dedication and faith in rock’n’roll", "It is an Eastern European phenomenon”.
In 2012, supporting the 2nd album, the band relocates to Poland where performs on festivals, participates in contests and wins awards. That year The Toobes also takes part in Polish TV project “Must Be The Music” which brings the band wide circle of followers.
These days in Poland The Toobes plays almost a show a day. "We’ve relocated to the European country, where it is easier to keep in touch with European audience – music should have no boundaries”, band members note. Polish media reflect: "The Toobes music is a tribute to all the very best in world’s rock. The concerts of the band are pure rock eruptions that absorb everything and everyone in its range. Rock'n'roll trio successfully conquered Eastern Europe, it currently focuses on concerts in Poland, in the near future they’ll throw the entire world to their knees!"
The Toobes played support acts with Franz Ferdinand, Beady Eye (ex-OASIS), Deep Purple (from whom the trio received a guitar as a gift). On the very special occasion The Toobes performed in Moscow, Minsk and Kiev as a support band for The Offspring.
The Toobes holds solid experience of live performances at European festivals, in clubs and big concert venues. The band delivered more than 200 solo shows. The atmosphere The Toobes creates on its shows is a shared experience of rock music reality, an energy field that makes the listeners younger. Active concert life and new impressions allow the band to renew its repertoire and gather material for new studio recordings.
