This whole album is nice, but Djed is just on a whole nother level, what a ridiculously cool piece of music.

Too "clean" for my tastes, it's almost excessively stagnant, rigid. Neu! (which has a massive influence on this album) for instance were able to create a vivid, movable music remaining in the electronic genre, a characteristic that lacks in this album, but this is just my personal opinion.

The album here is indeed a reissue/remix version. The original US/European release had only six tracks, up to Along the Banks... and a full version Djed. The other tracks are included on A Lazarus Taxon, along with a shitload of other brilliant stuff. From the sound of the tracks, Gamera and Goriri fit in better with the first Tortoise album, and that is how these songs were first released: on the Japanese A Digest Compendium of Tortoises World.
