This album feels gigantic even for U2 standards. I genuinely believe it's their best work since Achtung Baby. Too bad the original running order, Get on your Boots and Stand Up Comedy ruined it. It seems that, aside from the itunes fiasco, this was the last time casual listeners cared about a new U2 album. My personal tracklist: 1.Soon 2.Breathe (Even they acknowledged they fucked up by opening the 360 shows with it) 3.Unknown Caller 4.Magnificent 5.Moment of Surrender 6.No Line on the Horizon 7.White as Snow 8.Fez/Being Born 9.I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (It plays way better near the end) 10.Cedars of Lebanon

Absolutely agree. Even the old version of Every Breaking Wave felt more spiritual and could have fit the album well.

Underrated. Could've been better, though, the band has been afraid of risks for the past two decades, this was their chance to do something really remarkable after two safe albums. And the past two after No Line have returned to the safe route.....

Underrated. I agree with Brian Eno: some of "the best work they've ever done" is here. Some songs are really plain (Boots, for example), but MoS, UC, Breathe and CoL are amazing. MoS is one of their best.

Kinda feel like 'Sexy Boots' (I know that that's not the name of the song, but it's fun to call it that anyway!) rubbed folks the wrong way. There are some good tunes on this album, even if it ain't one of their best.

Apart from one or two tracks, there's nothing particularly brilliant here but it's all surprisingly memorable and just plain well-done.

I like this album, as well as October. I don't understand why those two albums aren't more recognized in the U2 discography. "Magnificent" is great and "Moment of Surrender" is probably my favorite U2 song since something from Achtung Baby.

I like the album, even though the album cover suggests something boring inside. Damn, does that cover bug the hell out of me. (Must be my graphic design background acting up.) The linear notes cite the photo as the "Boden Sea - Uttwil".
