Not to be confused with his May 2018 collaboration with ok2222 of the same name, “beside you” is keshi’s first single of 2021 and first single since the release of his sixth EP always. Keshi first teased its release on his Instagram stories showing a folder containing the song title. Two days later, keshi went onto Twitter and teased its released with a reply to a fan on Twitter who said “please @keshimusic, release something. Anything.” To which he replied: "k". Two days after on an Instagram livestream, he also revealed that the song’s production was assisted by French musician Madeon, who has shown love to keshi during his set at wwFest.
