Happy 13th scrobbling anniversary today! ... how fast time passed by listening to your >1000 bands ... May you have many such musical cake days ... What do you prefer most about lastfm these days, and if you still remember, what did you like when you joined this lovely community? ... P.S. I present this song (e.g. available on spotify/AppleMusic) to this birthday of yours: ... genre: minimalistic/experimental -> 13th track, from album ('violin edition (1st album)'): ... '1 day after February 13' (this track has 121 beats/mins) ... https://www.last.fm/music/Erkan+Y%C4%B1lmaz/_/1+day+after+February+13 ... btw: Here in Germany the authorities extended the protections against Corona disease, yet once more again. And in your country, Noam?

Musical greetings from Bochum, I see you are still here at lastfm after more than 11 years :-) That's a long time... When you look back over all this time: how did your musical "journey" progress? ... Wishing all the best for your forthcoming 8000 scrobbles milestone... How I discovered your lastFM profile actually? ... I was glancing over our musical chit-chat from over 7 years ago (2011 July) by you in my shoutbox... Wishing you a wonderful Sunday, wherever you may be at the moment

Hi! I don't know how to describe the progress :P In general, I always "learn" to listen and like new kinds of music. The 8000 milestone is very far, with the frequency that I listen to music AND let it scrobble :P (On Sunday I was at work and then at my studies, because our resting day is Sabbath and it's on Saturday :P )

For me the music just plays in the background while doing other stuff, so I scrobble more often, so-to-speak... Also, I had a few phases, every 2 or 3 years: then I am switching completely the music genres I listen to daily, rarely I listen to the old genres then... except the last few weeks: I am listening to the loved tracks on spotify (I noticed, that I didn't mark those as "loved" on lastfm :-() ... Wishing you a nice Tuesday evening!

What a movie-like tiny situation: I checked an album of Faith No More. While listening, a little part of a song (of another band) got into my head. I didn't remember what song it was or who plays this, and in my head it was sung by Patton. After several minutes, it came to me- it's Interpol :) I suspected it's Mammoth, and I was right. so I listened to the whole song :)

And what about you? What do you seek in music? What kind of relationship you have with it? :)

Oh, I understand! That is not what I had in mind, no. It was more when something new, unexpected, refreshing or creative comes to my ears. I love it as I feel it broadens my vision of what music is able to do, both in technical or emotional expression. And I think I'm quite earthly in my relationship with music as well. I like it to tell me of the seas and forests, sunsets and cloudy days. I like when a melody shows me what it feels like to be in russian steppes or norwegian fjords. Or how it feels to be in a claustrophobic atmosphere, or to feel lonely, or free and enthusiastic. I am not usually affected by lyrics as much too, I am much more of a lover of instrumental music.

Hi! What do you mean by "can't felt *that* with music"? I see you're talking about my "I like me songs that make me go "wow, you can do/feel *that* with music!?" quote, but I don't know what's your interpretation on that *that*!

Yeah, true! I use my vynil player a lot. As a matter of fact, I prefer vynils 100x to CDs. They rule!
