Happy 7th scrobbling anniversary today! ... Thinking about it: how did your "musical journey" develop over these years?... P.S. Let me present this track (youtube/spotify) to your "birthday": ... the term "yedi" in Turkish means: 7 :-) ... genre: experimental/minimalistic -> ... 'yedi' (this track has 101 beats/mins): ... https://www.last.fm/music/Erkan+Y%C4%B1lmaz/_/yedi

Damn, that sucks. I would say you shoulda came say what's up but I don't blame you for not wanting to talk in that case lol. I was pleased overall but also disappointed in some aspects. I didn't like how literally half of the show was strictly PW but it didn't surprise me they did that. I also thought it was lame how they didn't play a SINGLE SJ song, but they did play Water Curses and Kids on Holiday which are some of my personal favorites so it all wasn't so bad for me.

Nah I don't think you did, but glad to hear you're coming. I'm going with a buddy of mine, maybe we can meet up during the concert if you want. If they end up playing Alvin Row that'll be pretty life changing IMO.

Well your analysis has definitely piqued my interest. I too definitely enjoy my turn up music and from what you said he sounds like he may have a similiar style to Yung Gleesh. I'll have to give the tape a listen in my coming days off work, I'll let you know what I think about it

ok so whats the scoop on Kodak Black is he actually decent or just another coattail rider like Carti? Just the title and art for Lil Big Pac has me extremely sceptical, more so than I was with xxxtentacion and Ski Mask Slump

Well that's a pretty valid excuse for not going but the show was still fucking fiya. They had a perfect setlist, great visuals, dancing astronauts, and I thought Com Truise was just opening but he ended up playing a whole set which was a nice bonus.

Ye, I'm sure it'll be a bonerific show. Really feel like this is one I can't allow myself to miss. I used to be more into Starfucker a few years back, but them coming to NOLA kinda helped me get back into them/finally focusing on all their stuff lol.

I like a lot of his digital stuff but I'm more fond of his analog/harsher stuff. I would recommend listening to Dharma at least if you are saying you like white noise stuff. It's not brutal but still has that presence of noise of course. As for shows, I plan on seeing Starfucker in May. Haven't purchased a ticket yet but I was going to soon. Was also thinking about DIIV but not too keen on seeing this one in particular solo.

I've been experimenting with other noise artists, yes. Some are notable, some are meh. Merzbow just has so much fucking shit recorded it's ridiculous. It started off with just a few albums, and as time went on I needed more and more. Never really intended to get this into him, but you never know until you give something a real chance. My goal is to listen to all of his albums before I die. I have about 150 to go lol.

Glad to know somebody out there managed to notice my unhealthy Merzbow obsession.

Welp, Godspeed and Mac are both definitely happening for me. Only bad thing about Mac is that I'll be going to the show solo unfortunately.

Those visuals are what made everything so incredible. Everything felt like some kind of music video, crowd was great, and I had a little green to make the evening right. Not only that, but the setlist was pretty much perfect, they literally played all of my favorites. The show in all met all of my expectations and definitely worth my time.

I'm sorry our paths didn't coincidentally cross for Tame Impala, but what did you think of the concert?

i think what makes me enjoy NotM is how insane Ride is and as you said madman-esque, only this time he's doing it more through the lyrics than yelling. just so many memorable lines and catchy choruses, like i seriously remember feeling hypnotized the first time i heard say hey kid. but yeah i agree as well with a scratch being left unitched since he isn't yelling, i think thats why i keep replaying You Think He Loves You cause that is ride at his best imho

NOTM is probably my favorite DG release. maybe just because its shorter and didnt have any filler to me (not that all of their albums do) but i just love how all over the place it is and the songs seem to be done in movements. TPTB hasnt hit me as hard as some of the other releases have but i still really enjoy it. i just LOVE ride's whispering on some of the tracks, especially PSS PSS. i didnt like inanimate sensation (in anime chicks are asian) at first when it was released as a single but it fit surprisingly well in context of the album
