HI there, thanks for accepting my invitation. For a Frank Zappa and Gentle Giant fan, can I suggest something? Frogg Café, an american project, awesome music and musicians. They have started with a tribute band to Frank Zappa. I guess you will probably love it. Cheers, from Portugal!

You do know that if you lived in the 70's you would be a lot older. LOL Thanks for the add and i will give "Second Sunday in August" a listen. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey Christian, I'm listening to Weather Report as i type. I see we have some charts in common. I'm trying to expand my musical selections. I see you are a guitar player yourself, good luck with that. Thanks for the look around. Stay warm and happy holidays.

I listened Apostrophe. I have to agree it's a weird album, but like it! I have to listen more times to have a solid opinion. ;D Zappa's albums doesn't look like anything that I listened! ;)

I agree with you when you said Zappa requires a lot of time... I only listened Hot Rats & The Grand Wazzo. I liked the both, but I really love Hot Rats(it's one of my favourite albums). I will check "You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 2". Thanks for the recommendations! ;D

Ok! Have you listened much material of Frank Zappa, right? I've been listening some Zappa's albums for months... but he has a long discography and I don't know any person who likes Zappa's music. In your opinion, what are the best Frank Zappa albums? =D

Hahaha, if she sounds somewhat like Peter Gabriel (which I happen to really like too) I'll take it that you liked her! As you listen to more of her tunes, let me know what you think, take care! =p

Well, I absolutely love Tori Amos, so it´s hard for me to pick specific songs or albums because I think she has such a rich and diverse repertoire when it comes to themes, moods and sounds that you'd be well served with anything you'd like to start with. However, I'd recommend listening first to "Precious Things" and "Crucify" from her debut album to pick up what her songs are all about, really crafted arrangements and raw, emotional and personal lyrics. Other favorites of mine are "Caught a Lite Sneeze", (amazing drum/bass), "Cornflake Girl", "Bouncing Off Clouds", "Sweet the Sting", "A Sorta Fairytale", "Winter", "Big Wheel", "Blood Roses" , "Cruel", etc. I'd better stop now or I'll leave a testimony ;). Hope you like her!!

Hi! Thanks for your friendship request, I see you're a big prog rock fan so I really liked your charts, and I'll definitely be looking more closely into some bands I don't know very well yet when I have the time ;-)

Ugh at shoutboxes with their inability to form paragraphs making my post a bit jumpy.

Yeah progressive rock has to be my favorite as well. People laugh it off as pretentious music but I'd much rather hear bands aspire to something greater than just playing it safe and easy. How can people not dig the imagery, experimental composition, and unusual time signatures? Yeah even I have to admit that Zappa's nearly flawless streak through the 60's & 70's does taper off a bit in the 80's. Then again even those lesser albums have at least one really good song...except for Thing-Fish. The 80's did sort of make every previously enjoyable band suck. I've been hearing really good things about that Philly release. The only posthumous live Zappa album I own is Wazoo (a must if you dig his Jazz period) and that's got me wanting to get all the other ones. Fucking Barko Swill and their expensiveness.

Your top 50 artist plays like a Prog Rock best of. MAJOR kudos. The few bands I have yet to hear I guess I'm going to have to now since all the rest are solid gold. P.S. Are you one of those crazies who owns every FZ album? All I'm missing out on are the "Joe's" series and a few of the Vaulternative live releases.
