I promise they are my roots! Probably 2nd & 3rd wave + midwest emo mostly. I see you're into the OG stuff, yeah? Recommendations?

sorry i have very strong reactions to someone having "low" compatibility cause it usually means mall emo or alt rock said to be emo if they talk about liking emo, yeah im more of the "real emo/screamo" thing and havent really diverged into any of the noodly midwest stuff, just stayed in the hardcore adjacent stuff. for the really good 90s emo shit id say Anasarca, Hoover, Current, Indian Summer, Evergreen, Nuzzle, Salvo Rain, Serotonin, Shoulder (asking me for recommendations is useless because emo/screamo cannot be bad, i pretty much enjoy all of it for some reason), looking them up on Discogs will yield you all the results for their albums and you can soulseek them if you dont find em on any streaming services (probably wont), again sorry for the overreaction lol

It's alright, I can appreciate a purist :-) I might look into some 90's bands but I think what I'm really interested in is emo that's alive in 2022. Do you think it exists? Imo, there is a pretty strong scene coming up through hip-hop the last few years. Most of the artists I listen to come from there.

Thank you. That's a tough question to answer. I've spent time listening to so many incredible albums but some lasting favorites for me have been Caspian- Waking Season, Do Make Say Think- & Yet & Yet, and on the more math-rock side of things Enemies- We've Been Talking. Could easily fit Mogwai and EITS in there too. What are yours?

Cudi probably influences everything hip hop I listen to, honestly. He's that much of an artist in my eyes.

Yes, I think it's the best Modest Mouse song. It's their longest one too. I just thought you would like it.

Slackwax is sexy music. I just find it by accident or friends with good taste. Slackwax was a complete accident. How about you?

I can recomend you Ligths&Motion, Mono if you are not listened those bands early, also Epic 45, Mono, Mooncake, This will Destroy You. From post-metal i prefer to listen Russian Circles, Jakel, Pelican. Besides you can try to taste russian guys like - I am waiting for you last summer or atmospheric piano project of our ukrainian guy which called Endless Melancholy or his early works under the name like bs ranger. When you searching for a new post-rock music, recomend you to visit a site post-rock.ru This is the best i found two years ago at Internet.
