Hello, my friend. Was wondering if you ever heard Hallelujah by Kaylee Rogers. It is on Spotify and youtube. She is a young autistic girl from Ireland. Unbelievably beautiful. Almost brings me to tears. If you havent heard it, give it a listen. Happy Holidays to you.

Sara is my most-played artist...I have a bunch of her CD's and was also fortunate to see her live when "The Blessed Unrest" was first released. That's when I couldn't hear enough of her. I try to hear new artists, so I don't just listen to one. LOL ;-)

Haha...Anna Nalick is no. 11 on my all-time playlist, only bumped out of top 10 recently by Brooke Fraser, who I'm hot on lately. I saw Anna live in Akron a couple years ago...she's a real person, the kind of artist I prefer to support. I'm no fan of the "next big thing" type of artist that the industry pushes. I was irritated when Sara's "The Blessed Unrest" album lost the Grammy to some NZ teeny-bopper's 1st album. Solid sustained accomplishment lost to the latest thing. I got to see Sara live when that album was new. She's as good as they get. Makes me hungry for another feast of live music, but nobody I like that much is coming. Bummer, eh? As to less guitar, I'm fine with that...I love good piano, but if a singer/songwriter stands and delivers just with backing musicians, I can dig that too. Have a great holiday season, Mike. ;-)

I've heard everything in her LFM catalog a couple times. She's from a suburb a couple away from where I live, but I've not seen her live. I HAVE seen 3 of my most-played artists...Sara Bareilles, Anna Nalick, and Rosi Golan...all great live...and highly recommended. Would LOVE to see a performance of "Waitress" with Sara in the cast, but not likely gonna happen. The album is great.

Got a recommendation for you. Think you might like. Canadian band, Dear Rouge. Might be too electro for you, but try the song Chains. She has a beautiful voice. I stumbled upon them on Spotify and really enjoyed them. Hope all is well with you.

Listened again yesterday to Dear Rouge, Chuck. I especially like "Black to Gold", and I agree. Danielle McTaggart's voice is primo. ;-)

I had to listen again to give you an entirely truthful answer, Chuck, and I like many, but especially "I Love You Always Forever"...it's sweet and upbeat, and there isn't enough of that these days. I'm not so taken by the multitude of remixes of her songs and those of many others. Once in awhile they're good, but most remixes aren't as appealing as the originals. I do like the acoustic tracks, as well as the live ones.

Hello, my friend. Don't know if you're familiar with Kasey Chambers. She's an Aussie, kind of country, Americana, rock and a little blues. Quite popular in Australia and has quite a body of work. Her voice is at times like a little girl. Some would say an acquired taste, but I like her. Give a listen to her new album Dragonfly. I love it, especially You Ain;t Worth Suffering For. Hope all is well with you. Take care.

I'm behind on so many things...happens when there's more to do than I have time for. Thanks for the tips. I'll check them out ASAP. And you're right...and even better, I'm hearing tons of artists I've never heard before. Just listened to everything Spotify had by Kita Alexander, another super talent from down under.

Our wealth of things to listen to...it's sad to think how many of them struggle for support when the biggest attention often goes to lesser talents or classic rock hangers-on. No...I won't name them. LOL

Just discovered the song Don't Want To Do this. Saw your shout on the song page. Didn't know you were a Divinyls fan. I was fortunate to see them once at an outdoor club in Buffalo. One of the best shows I ever saw. Hope all is well with you.

Didn't hear them while they were touring, but I've seen a fair share of bands live, including The Doors, The Byrds, and Roxy Music early on.

Saw Brooke Annibale last night at Beachland Tavern in Cleveland. She opened for Margaret Glaspy, but in my opinion was the best part of the show. Will have to make a trip to Pittsburg, I guess, to see her with backup, but her acoustic show was really nice.

The same to you, I hope. We'll see when we play from iTunes if they get added twice, I guess, but already had a weekend where my plays for the year were frozen, and yesterday was informed that I've never listened to Florence + the Machine. Glitchy as always. But always the upside is that I can see what I've heard. I still haven't found my many playlists, though. Disappointing, to say the least. Scrobble on! ;-)

I'm listening now to Vance Joy, a singer-songwriter from Melbourne. They describe his style as folk with pop influences. OK. LOL I'm hearing a lot more of new artists from Norway. Luckily most of their music is both in English and good. But go figure how they decided to give me so many artists from a tiny Nordic country. Algorithms are a strange thing.

I hear you! I like a couple of Danish bands, and now I keep getting A LOT of danish bands in my radio mix. And most have been very good, so I am expanding my musical horizon. Have drifted back to last fm, though not enjoying the change. Hope all is well with you. And I hope 2017 will be a better year. To me, 2016 was god awful,

Since my sidebar is gone, I may have to come to the shout box more often, but it's NOT the same. If you haven't heard "Savages" by Marina & The Diamonds, check it out. It's an honest assessment of human failings, something my sidebar addressed until they blew it away. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxaTAFXgykU

I don't know about you, but I hate that last.fm has sterilized my page, removing the sidebar that tells much about me and what I value. And though I've told them many times about a problem with tracks played from my iTune library scrobbling twice, that still isn't fixed, and now there's no button to delete the duplicates. This is the worst rollout of an update I've ever seen. Very sad what they've done. Any improvement in graphics is far outweighed by the problems and omissions.

I found music by The Strange Familiar last March, thanks to a suggestion on Spotify. They knocked me out. Fronted by singer/songwriter Kyra Leyden and her guitarist husband Jeff Andrea, they have found their way ever higher on my playlist. Two weeks after first hearing, I saw them live in Akron, Ohio, and with their performance last night at the Akron Civic Theater, with a string quartet, I'v enow seen them three times. Unlike some artists, they sound every bit as good live as they do in the studio. This is their current single: Their official acoustic version of "Rain" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNb-w6Y8Zqw And an early favorite: "Courage Is" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIRPq_25cUk If you know me, you know I won't steer you wrong. And what a treat to have such talent in my back yard. ;-)

As 2013 nears her end we reflect back and see bountiful blessings in which we were blessed with. There were some things we had to go through, things we had no control over; but in the going through may our hearts have gained strength and comfort where it was needed most. May we be set on mission this New Year to reach out to others in such a way they can feel us reaching even before we make it to their hearts door. May we give in a way like never before, a pouring out of all we have from within us. May we overlook the negativity and grasp hold of every little positive piece. May we grow - blossom, mature, expand in ways needed and may we whisper encouragement all around. May there be opportunities for us to lend our hearts and hands to help in ways we can, and of most certain reality there is already opportunities that await our very step toward them. When we can, which is always, may we spread LOVE LIKE RADIANT LIGHT across this land we walk and breathe in. Hugs, Dawn

No doubt I love Sara Bareilles' song, "I Choose You", not to mention the rest of "The Blessed Unrest", but looks like the scrobbler has misfired big time, adding 10 plays that never happened. Wow...looks like maintenance is overdue. That's on top of songs I know I listened to, that are in my library, that I made shouts for, but show no plays...a bunch. Hmmmph.

Sad when I see so few listeners to a great song and video as this one by Shelley Harland, recording as Pixszels. This version of In the dark is special, but the version that appears on her "Red Leaf" album is also very nice. I'll never understand how such fine singer/songwriters like Shelley fly under the radar, while minor talents grab the headlines. Now, excuse me, while I play "Red Leaf".
