I'm glad you asked! bappy is one of my friends I met online and they're a rapper and producer. They are one of the founders of kawaii goon$, an Internet collective and label. jamZ is my favorite work from them so far, but Stitched Fragments with producer and friend of theirs WonderMothh is more pristine and WAY more consistent. They have a a project with Aizeks, a producer and friend of bappy's, coming out soon. I hope this all made sense.

from what i’ve read ppl just don’t have concert etiquette at their shows, i’ve read about people pissing in the pit and just being really immature and stupid, and there was that one incident where they walked off stage because people wouldn’t stop throwing glow sticks at them

hello... I'd seen your Plath vignette in a swans shoutbox (YRP, I reckon?) around late april this year -- I didn't have the fortitude to read it at the time because I'd been stumbling through some school project but I returned to it today, read it in full, and felt connected to you in some level beyond just being lonely queer teens liking similar artists and media :33 but I was saddened to realise I didn't remember your user. but I'm here -- I found you again! Lain, from your behaviour towards others on this site and your prose I can surmise that you seem to be a very sweet person, and I think it's so beautiful that everything seems much better for you compared to this time last year... I don't know what I aim to accomplish with my little yap, but I found you!

It seems my Golden Record found another lifeform after flying through space! I will respond to your beautiful post in order. I posted "Plath" to multiple places, including the Michael Gira shoutbox because I referenced him in there. I checked and I didn't find my vignette in "YRP," but that song broke me when I first heard it. I hope your school project went well! I wrote "Plath" when dodging my reading assignment because my priorities shifted while in what I would later understand to be psychosis. I am still amazed by the past me's ability to write that letter. It was so ambitious but I did it. I'm so happy that you felt a connection to me in general! I yearn for human connection and I use my writing to facilitate that and to offer my perspective on things. I'm so glad you found me again! I appreciate the compliment <33 I try my best to be a good person and a role model. Everything does seem a lot better for me compared to last year, I agree. I wish for my newfound happiness (cont'd)

-to be a beacon of hope for those who can relate to me. Your yap is very much appreciated and people like you are who give me the motivation to write and share my art with the world. I get nervous sharing this stuff, but seeing the positive reactions especially by those who gave me the time of day make this worth it. I have scattered many vignettes in shoutboxes ever since January of 2023 and I think the structure of last.fm makes the hunt all the more interesting because you can just stumble upon them. They vary in emotion and content but it's stuff I would read and true artists create things they care about. Wishing you well and if you ever want to talk more I'm here!

I plan to use the playlist you sent to discover the artists you put into it and listen to their discographies. I have checked out a few eevee projects and they were super peaceful. Reminds me of Nujabes, which I suppose is inevitable because Nujabes and J Dilla pioneered lo-fi hip-hop. I intend to listen to more of her stuff soon, but I know for a fact that her music will be useful when I have to read or study. Thank you for putting me on!

I watched Dead Leaves. Somehow even crazier than FLCL, and that's saying something. I usually like more plot-heavy stuff in general, but this was nice to just see the chaos and depravity. The drill guy was so silly. Pandy was right when she said that she felt nothing after all of this because I felt nothing too due to how I was trying to comprehend everything that was happening. Then again, fiction doesn't always have to make sense. Thank you for showing me!

I had a dream that I scrobbled this artist named "snidog" enough for them to be on my artist chart for the past 30 days and that their artist profile was a tiny pitbull with a red and white striped sweater. Many of my other scrobbled artists on my chart were wearing that same sweater. This is last.fm's Smile Dog, but a positive version.

I need to listen to vivivivi's other material, but IN MY MIND has left a permanent impact on me. Thank you for the library compliment ^^ I love how your artist profile is The Forgotten from The Binding of Isaac. That game comforts me a lot. I'll have to check out To Be Haunted, it looks crazy. I'll also have to listen to Yumi. Thanks for stopping by!

Hey, you like what you like and that's that. I have my boundaries too, like pop music with little apparent substance. I recommend demahjiae's And, Such Is Life. (an experimental hip-hop masterpiece about depression), Black Kray AKA SICKBOYRARI's City of Doves (another masterpiece about depression, but this time cloud rap (the lyrics may not be for everyone though due to how substanceless they may seem, which I understand, but I still love it)), Panchiko's DEATHMETAL (it's shoegaze, not death metal; some people hate this record but I love it a lot), betcover!!'s Tamago (art rock; the yellow cover), Dean Blunt's BLACK METAL 2 (don't worry, it's not actually black metal but actually "art pop" (not a good descriptor though)), Flying Lotus' Cosmogramma (electronic), Thundercat's It Is What It Is (high quality pop/neo-soul/alt r&b/neo-funk) and Godspeed You! Black Emperor's Lift Your Skinny Fists (it's 2 hours long but it's worth a listen (post-rock)).

Finally tapped in, sorry for the long wait. It was a super relaxing listen. I enjoyed it way more than FULL TIME LOVER. As for zzzahara, I think that Eyedress and her have beef but I'm not sure if it's squashed now. I also think that Eyedress was going to a gloomy post-punk type of thing instead of jangle pop like The Simps, but it would have been cool to have zzzahara on it. I wrote a review on RYM if you want to hear my elaborated thoughts on it. Thank you for reminding me to check it out!

I've been in a synthpop, postpunk, coldwave kinda vibe lately.

It's certainly rivaled by others, but thank you nonetheless. I take a lot of recommendations because I try to be open-minded and a good friend to people and some music ends up sticking with me is all. There are so many artists I am unaware of from many genres, though. I don't actively seek out underground music; I naturally drift that way because I'm a proponent of experimentation, innovation, and new stuff in art in general. It's about that holistic appreciation of all forms of art in general (though I'm lacking in some forms than others like movies). Which artists are examples of my knowledge of the underground? Just curious.

I like to be holistic with how I listen to music, but the problem with listening to albums is that you waste your time listening to less potent material sometimes. You never know what to really expect. I like listening to albums for the sake of context, but listening to singles and songs from an album instead of the full thing has its benefits. Either way, as long as we enjoy the music that's what matters. Wishing you well on your musical journey <33

Hello mutual, I’ve read some of your writings periodically through various shoutboxes here and there. You seem so perceptive and introspective and I really enjoy hearing your way of thinking. From one writer to another. I’m a novelist and I enjoy storytelling, but I find it hard to look deep within myself to express my virtues and complexities. I really love the connections you draw between your life and the music you enjoy (I was inspired to write this because I found your comment on Moor Mother’s shoutbox). Anyway, it’s admirable that you have harnessed this ability, and I wish only the best for you in your future ventures :-)

Thank you so much for your comment. I would love to support your writing endeavors. I have the opposite problem; I'm great it looking within but writing characters who are somewhat different than me can be a bit difficult although I try to understand others' points of views. I recommend practicing the styles of writing that are most challenging to you. Even if they suck, their creations won't be in vain as they are building blocks to your future writings. My early material SUCKS, but it was necessary to get to where I'm at as a writer today. I just finished writing a short story with a few different characters in it if you're interested in reading it. I have to do some edits first but after that I can send you it in DMs with a content warning. I wish you the best with your future endeavors as well <33
