Ok we are very late but after a month I present listen 1/8 which was B.G. record "Chopper City In The Ghetto". A very good serving of late 90s Cash Money. A record that very clearly plays to the strengths of where B.G. is from with a healthy scoop of that New Orleans Bounce flavour throughout the LP. I overall would probably say the middle portion of the record was my favourite but overall if I had to select a few standouts would probably be Bling Bling (Track 7) Dog Ass-Cash Money Roll-Niggaz In Trouble (Tracks 10-12) and Hard Times (Track 14). But through all 16 tracks there was not really a true dud and good features overall. Heard maybe the youngest Lil Wayne verses for myself still need to get more into his discography this yeaer he was pretty good I found on Niggaz In Trouble. Bling Bling & Dog Ass where probably some personal standouts on the production side.

Since a little over a week I have been heavily back into hip-hop. Especially getting into various mixtapes and in terms of new styles it's trap and dirty south/southern hip-hop which I had heavily ignored before. Made me think of your account and some previous shouts, might need to steal some stuff from your library.

I listened to the Gangsta Boo debut LP tonight thanks to having seen her in your tops artists last week. A sad way to discover an artist after a tragic passing, but alas I had bookmarked her then and listened now! I wish to thank you for this discovery, overall thought Enquiring Minds was quite a nice listen. Didn't go crazy over it but definitely an LP I could see myself revisiting. I Definitely need to check out the the Three 6 Mafia now too.

Pretty good Mr. Murray. Thanks for asking. I can't think of any current albums sadly, even some of my favorites like Alex G's new stuff just doesn't scratch that itch. But I am really digging The Depreciation Guild's "Spirit Youth" from 2010 it hits a really fine balance between chiptune and shoegaze. How about you, got any sweet sound to share?

I'll check it out! Surprised it passed me by. My favorite album is probably Aethiopes by Billy Woods - even if you're not a hip hop fan, it's just so dense and heavy, it's really worth the listen. Also love, love Topical Dancer by Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul. Many more but we'll start there haha.

Hey! You were the only other one with Lykke Li's ü&i as obsession, so I peeked, and was not dissapointed. Great stuff on here for sure!

Yes! What are your thoughts about new debuts? I feel like you would really like Pixy and Purplekiss if you dont know them already.

Lil Troy and Fat Pat, that's nice. Those are names I don't see very often on Last.fm

That's the case with a lot of Houston artists. Last year I've discovered Woss Ness, Big Steve's group, I never heard of them before but their album "Bangin Screw" is a quintessential Houston 90's hip-hop album!
