Yeah, "Gymnopédies No. 1" is my shit. I liked that Philip Glass album! Some songs reminded me of Sufjan Stevens' music, which I'm certain is influenced by Glass. Thanks for the recommendation; I'll definitely check out some more of his stuff.

yeah, brooks is way into drugs... which is cool because it goes w/his onstage persona. also, that 'next level' clip is hilarious. i always wanted to watch that show but would never catch it on [as]. hope you're doing well. let me know next time you're in town, we should have (vegan) pizza & doughnuts.

I noticed your shout on Alanis Morissette's You Oughta Know and thought it was cool. That must have been a perfect way to experience that song, haha. I checked out your profile and noticed we had similar views on listening to music. & your library intrigued me.

David! Good to hear from you. Your new composition sounds really exciting, as well as the new projects you're working on. Once you're done, I'd love to hear it if you don't mind sharing, and if there happens to be a recording of it. I'm really sorry to hear your last performance didn't pan out, but don't let it get to you. It could still happen at some point in the future ... keep your chin up and keep moving onward and upward. I'm on spring break right now, exhausted but happy for the respite. March had been grueling, but at least spring is finally here! Wish you all the best, David. It'll all work out, you'll see. :) Big hugs ((( ♥ ))) for you.

Hey David! Hope you are doing well. I'm sorry for this late reply ... the last two weeks have come and gone in one big blur. :) Your last couple of messages had fascinating info ... why did you not tell me you were a multi-instrumentalist and that you composed?! That's pertinent stuff you should consider mentioning in your profile to enlighten visitors so we'd know the full range of your abilities. All this time, I thought you only played guitar. There are so many pieces missing in this story. :) You sound like one heck of a serious musician with some mad skills, I don't even know what to say except, YES! I'd love it if you would send the link to your recording when it's available. I'm the same age you are, except my music taste seems to belong to another era. If it hadn't been for accidentally finding an old youtube clip of Duane Allman's guitar playing about 2.5 years ago, I don't think I would have developed any interest in music at all. Seriously!

Hello :) Yes, crying to music should be natural for anyone. I actually do remember the post I left on that particular song. I honestly am not sure what made me cry, but I really did and I'm completely fine with that...it was a singular moment for me :)

Hey thanks! The strangeness in her creativity appeals to me in an odd way ... I like it! So, are you doing gigs now that you aren't in school? I understand where you are coming from ... huge student loans at graduation aren't something to look forward to. Nice X-mas present ... I'm thinking it would have been nice if you got a large quantity of beef jerky instead ... it would save you from having to cook. :) We have not formally introduced ourselves. I know you by name because you have it on your profile, but my name is Eva. And I'm not 40. It's the music I listen to, isn't it, that gave you this impression. :)

David! How are you? I've watched one or two of St. Vincent's youtube clips prior to the holidays and am aware of her collaborative work with David Byrne, but this past winter break was an incredibly unproductive one in terms of scrobbling new music. :) Do you have a specific album of hers you'd recommend? And what about you? Did you have a good break?

Hey, don't mention it. Wasn't sure if you've heard this piece before. Actually, I found it while looking for something else. About less than a minute or so into the clip, I'd forgetten what it was I was searching for and had to listen to the album. You could say he is fast becoming a favorite when that urge to listen to good guitar playing arises.

I do! Near SF. And yup I'm hispanic! I didn't know you had a radio show, I'll have to start checking it out. And yes! I have seen the Umnishi Wam, I love Harmonie Korine so when i found out they were working together I was ecstatic! I missed Die Antwoord when they were last in the bay, hopefully they'll show up again soon.

I thought you'd get a kick out of the poster, but turns out you like Max Dalton's other work, too. Sweet!

Yeah, Zappa can sure handle his guitar. Not to worry, you'll get there soon enough. :) Use the left arrow and scroll backwards to the first poster you see and notice who's leading this lineup: http://www.maximdalton.com/il_posters.html

Thanks, I haven't seen that clip before. This song cracks me up everytime. You know, I might have seen finger work like that on a cellist, once. :)

You're probably right, but I'd probably need to spend more time with his work in order to do find something. For now, I'll enjoy his more whimiscal work such as, "Stink Foot." :)

The album is essential listening and highly recommended but I haven't tackled it yet. There's no denying Zappa's talent, but for me, he's either immediate appreciation or an acquired taste. There's no in between.
