here are some of my favorite girls: tetê espindola, in a collab with almir sater, with the song "cunhataiporã"; fafá de belém and her entire album "água"!! specially the song paupuxina, also joyce moreno and her song "clareana" (my mom used to sing that song for me to sleep) listen to "ela" by elis regina too.... and make sure to look after maria rita, elis regina's daughter, and the song "cara valente". on the greatest instrumentalists in brazil, i can reccomend you rosinha de valença and her album "um violão em primeiro plano". so jazzy. adriana calcanhoto has some mellow lyrics on the live performace "público" of which i deeply recommend. andrea dalto kiuá is also a rare album you won't find many places, but it is divine. marisa monte is really worth diving into, specially "barulinho bom". this is a lot but i hope it can bring you to some of those special songs that really click with you :)) if you like any of them in particular i can give you more directions :p
