AM I THE LAST ONE TO KNOW THAT WARPAINT IS OPENING UP FOR MGMT TOMORROW? How did I not know this? I'm flippin' my lid. Also I've got my rainboots too, so ready.

I found out last week, the venue didn’t announce it or anything which was strange but it’s definitely a very good lineup hopefully it won’t rain out!

Yeah it definitely sucked but I did decide to stay after to see what the DJ set was going to be about, good thing I did! It was fun but I still wish i got the full concert experience :(

Noticed you're checking out some of the same shows as I am. You might want to check out Hilado Negro and then go to that show if you like it

Did you go to Neon Indian? I was planning on going *cries* Fuck me, I got sick with the flu - started on monday and I barely got better today (minus the nasty cough ugh). At least I'm off the entire week and don't have to work.

Yeah! I was able to make it with a couple of friends the show was really rad. He put on a good set with some oldies mixed in there which I appreciated more than the newer ones but overall still a great show to close out the year

It's really chill psych music! I also recommend their first album Mystic Hits, might take a little longer to click but it's also pretty good. I'm digging through your library to find some new music myself, awesome taste yourself

Dude, I found SOS cancelled on Friday. Kinda surprised. I wonder if it has anything to do with all the unfortunate event that happened last weekend in Vegas.

Oh yeah I saw that online too. I doubt it had anything to do with the shooter, I read an article online from an Austin news site that said that a primary investor for the fest got cold feet and backed out and they couldn't continue without the funding. It sucks to hear but I didn't get around to buying a ticket yet anyways

Yes! DFN will be amazing and I'm sure a bigger crowd since SOS was cancelled. Oh nice at HOB? I was there last night to watch Car Seat Headrest & The Black Angels. Both bands put on a great show! Bonobo seems like a fun show

Lucky you! I can't plan too far in advance because I photograph weddings on the weekends (which means I can't attend any Friday shows 'cause I need my rest) and work a 8-5 job during the weekdays. Weekday shows are better, I tend to drive to Houston or Austin right after work if I do plan on going. Even then I schedule photo sessions during the week so basically fml right now lol. But I can't complain about money. </rant>

Worst part about it tbh :( I have so many shows on my calendar I want to attend but I'm not certain I'll be able to until the week of for many of them thats why I hold off on buying tickets until I get my schedule. It's only going to get worse once school starts boo but I dabble in photography I'm an amateur but I've taken my camera to a couple of shows for fun sometimes. I wish I could get paid to photograph that would beat my current job lol. I find myself traveling to Austin as well to catch some acts that dont make it over and sometimes even to see them again

I'm always scared to take my camera to shows, they have been checking bags and I certainly don't want to go back to store it in my vehicle after waiting in line for so long lol. I'm slowly starting to network with the venue's photographers so I can at least get in without others fussing about it - so far it's not working!!!. If I'm really crazy about a certain artist (for example, The xx), I will put months into having conversations with a couple of their stage crew on Instagram. That seems to be working so far, I legit ask questions about the setup, festival capacity, etc. I've managed to get a couple of phone numbers and follows. I have even requested photographs from behind the stage and they tend to send them privately too! It's crazy... but it also helps being a girl lol.

So far all the shows I've taken mine too everything went smooth but then again I use a mirrorless so a DSLR might be problematic to someone that doesn't know anything about cameras. But yeah I agree thats a great way to start, I usually take my camera to smaller/underground functions so its less of a hassle I've gotten to meet a couple of bands directly and gotten follows from them but not really from anyone in press or crew. I agree though sometimes I don't take my camera to shows so I can fully enjoy it without having to worry about breaking my gear in the pit haha and other times I'm just out of it and just want to focus on the performance lol. If you have an ig and want to follow eachother I'd be down for that @kevmuraira , supporting the scene is my life

It hasn't sold out yet because Ticketmaster makes it look like The Flaming Lips are the only ones that are performing at Revention Center. I don't care for the Flaming Lips so much :/ . I'm totally prepared for Mac Daddy, just hoping he doesn't jump into the crowd naked with only underwear on haha. Man it's such a great year for music, seriously. There are so many acts I want to see.

Thats true, luckily I enjoy both The Flaming Lips and Mac Demarco. Yoshimi Battle The Pink Robots is one of my favorite albums! And yeah hes bound to do something crazy, I saw him at Warehouse live a couple of years ago and it was a wild ride for sure. And I totally agree with you this year has been amazing and generous with shows, I've been going to 4-5 every month I seriously cannot get enough of it

Ooh! Also, alt-j is performing in The Lawn in November. How likely am I to be at the front? lol. I'm weird, I can't fully enjoy a show unless I'm at the front. A lot of people that aren't in the "frontlines" tend to talk alot and shiz, so annoying :/ I know the area has a capacity of 3k+

Perfect. I've never gone there before, I assume it's only a few years old. The entire setup at the venue looks interesting, looking forward to it!
