It's an absolutely haunting song. That's the best way I can describe it. I would agree, definitely a strong Simon & Garfunkel influence. I'm really hoping for a Robin Pecknold solo release. How do you feel about "Olivia, In A Separate Bed" compared to "I'm Losing Myself"?

Hey ktybutler! I saw that you have a pretty good taste in music and thought that you'd maybe like our music as well. We are three girls from the forests of Sweden and we are going to record our very first album in Woodstock this summer! We would love if you checked out this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmTj6CzmAp4 ! Let us know what you think (it's much appreciated) by commenting the video, and also check out our cover of 'Kathy's Song' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44kjqZUC5PU that we got the chance to play live for Paul Simon! Love, VIDAR

Maybe it's the transatlantic gap but I don't know of any households that play/did play Fleewood Mac. :(

That's cool. Too be honest, I think they went for indie artists cos they know who the target audience for this album is. I've got to say that I was really happy to hear WIll Oldham is on it. :D

I was aware about it and then it left my brain. I have now just ordered it. This will permanently remedy the situation. :D

The days I don't feel like going out are usually the ones ending in 'y', but it's always disappointing to miss out on something good. Anyway, that's enough about that. HOLY SHIT, BEACH HOUSE! Floating . . . are you a wizard? Sounds dangerous--remember to wear your safety goggles and a helmet! If you're not used to floating around, you might bump into some furniture and hurt yourself. I once gashed my head on a light fixture; I would hate for the same thing to happen to you. I watched them play 'Myth' on Letterman just now, so I think I know the fans you're talking about, although there was no golden light. I was disappointed to see the guitarist had shortened his hair, but he made up for it by not wearing his shoes during the performance. Victoria's hair was as stunningly foofy as ever. I want to touch the hair. You're so lucky you got to see it live. Hopefully they visit Australia some time. :)

Stranger indeed! : P I'm doing fine; not much to report since we last spoke. I did manage to see Kurt Vile and the Violators, who played fantastically well on a hot summer's night. I was going to see The Mountain Goats on the 1st, but I didn't feel going out--a decision I now regret. Holy shit . . . yes, I am immensely enjoying the new Beach House album--I have been bumping it on the regular, ever since it leaked a couple of months ago. Don't tell the FBI! : P I like listening to it in the early morning, or after a downpour; it sounds good when there is dew on everything, don't ask why. Aaaaand it goes without saying: I am super-jealous of you seeing them perform live. I have a crush on their hairstyles. Did you get to touch their hair after the show? I hope you're doing well. : )

My standards are just as high, I promise. It's a double-edged sword, for sure. ...and I HAVE seen JD live; it was in March of last year, and it was AMAZING. He's the best the best the best the best. I will listen to that firstly, then. I must acquire it, which I am in the process of doing, actually! YES. ...and I am jealous of your proximity to the one they call King Mountain Goat. That is awesome. I'm sure you get a lot of the Merge Records traffic a'comin' your way.

Accordion is wonderful! Then they totally deserve a shot. Okay. I'm planning to listen to them soonly, then! ...also, I'm extremely critical and cynical when it comes to lyrics, ESPECIALLY, which is why JD and BC are like wonderful breaths of fresh air as for with to love them even more. haha. ...and look at YOUR shows you're going to be seeing in June! Those all look awesome.

THEY ARE THE BEST. We all know this is true. Them and Will Oldham make my heart melt into fifty-five pieces that disintegrate and fall apart all over the floor in a huge heap of love. What.

Maybe we should discuss Bon Iver more then. :p I think it's funny that our charts are so similar without actually discussing them.

Next stop: The National. I usually when I put the needle down on Alligator, My mouth seems to start singing all the words automatically even when I leave the room. The suckers at that gig are in for it hehehe. I think it will be louder though, so I may get away with it easier.
