I know, Romo... :-( that is very sad. That hurts me big time, but I got Cutler as a backup, so hopefully he can do work for me. Sproles is awesome, he is fast as fuck. So is Chris Johnson for Tennesee. I am super happy for D. Anderson coming alive and having a good game. Clinton Portis still killed for you this week. And what about Steven Jackson??? Holy shit!

Haha, indeed Witten is a solid acquisition. I only managed to get my hands on him in one league. And yes, I am truly happy that Mcnabb and Favre are still the men. F the naysayers, I say! Shoot, Favre threw 6 TOUCHDOWNS last week! He set a record for his own career. Him and Mcnabb are still as badass as ever. And speaking of the MEN, know who else is STILL amazing? Kurt Warner! Mad props to him too, he is still doing extremely well. I could type pages and pages worth of jibba-jabba about all of the crazy happenings in Fantasy Football world so far this season, but I won't bore you. Suffice it to say, it's been nuts, and fun. I hope your team is doing excellently!

Wow! Sorry I went post-berserker status on those last two shouts....I tend to wax a little passionate about football! So I shall keep this short: Mallory! It is time! The football season is here! Fantasy time is upon us! I just wanted to make sure you were juiced like me. First game is Thursday night so make sure to update your league and play Clinton Portis!!! Enjoy!

I'm hoping Michael Turner will have to be the workhorse and get lots of touches. Rookie QB too, so maybe Turner will be forced to just tear it up, who knows? I'm in two different leagues so far, so I can't possibly remember everyone I have...but a few off the top of my head: I have Romo as a QB in one league, with David Garrard as backup. I have Michael Turner as a 3rd running back, and Calvin Johnson as a 3rd receiver in one of them. AP and MJD as well (but MJD got injured!!!) I also have the NYG defense, except Osi Umenyiora injured his knee and is now OUT FOR THE SEASON!!!!!! Terrible news, but they are trying to coax Strahan out of retirement. Other hot spots include Derek Anderson, Ocho Cinco, Reggie Wayne, Joseph Addai, Andre Johnson (BEAST), etc. Tons of good players out there. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! I'm also doing leagues with individual defensive players for the first time, it's intense and scary!

Haha, you are forgiven about Hester. And it sounds like you have a pretty solid team to me, you don't need to trade with me! Romo is the man, I like your running backs, Clinton Portis CAN be pretty damn solid barring injury. TJ lit shit up last year, Greg Jennings was a phenomenal fantasy surprise stunner....he did excellent work for my team! I like Patrick Crayton as a number 2 receiver for Dallas, and Anquan Boldin should DO WORK since hopefully everyone will be keeping an eye on L Fitz. Boldin is a badass! You mean Roddy White, or Lendale White? And as far as Joneses go, yeah I'm not sure...there's Thomas, Julius, and Kevin...all running backs I think lol. Also, I have high hopes for Michael Turner. He put up PRETTY solid numbers as a backup to LT so hopefully its his time to shine. Obviously his limited playtime last year was enough to impress Atlanta enough to give him the starting spot. And since Atlanta's offense has been pretty damn weak...

No, unfortunately I didn't see the Jets vs. Redskins game at all, so I did not get to catch Favre in action. That is definitely exciting news though, perhaps I will have to keep a close eye on them this year. Also, Fantasy Football IS BADASS! I did it last year with my friends and it was the greatest thing EVER. It helped me learn sooooo many more players names and it forced me to watch EVERY game I could and pay super close attention to everything. I am doing it again this year with my friends....pretty soon we are doing our manual draft, it is going to be so exciting! I have 2nd pick after my friend Craig. So if he goes with LT (which I don't see why he wouldn't) I will prob go for Adrian Peterson! And yeah, I heard that Romo and Manning are ranked quite highly, although surely Brady will be a stunner again. I'm excited for lots of other QBs too....like Big Ben, and Derek Anderson. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SEASON TO START!

Montana was still pretty good with the Chiefs I think, and I don't remember for other QBs like Namath or Unitas. And again, jersey switching aside, check this out....Brett Favre turns 39 in October I think, and the only quarterback EVER to lead his team to the playoffs while starting at age 39 is Phil Simms. Let's hope Favre can do work.

Yeah Peterson is tight. Also, isn't Hester still with the Bears? Or did I miss something? Yeah I don't know, I think A Rodge is handling it alright. I mean, just think about the pressure on that guy. Pretty much anything short of a Super Bowl is going to be deemed "not as good as Favre would have done." Don't get me wrong, I wish Favre were still in Green Bay...I'm just trying to see it from Rodgers' point of view and empathize with the guy. He is going to be under closer scrutiny than any other player in history perhaps, and even if he DOES do an insanely good job, there are still going to be haters and Favre loyalists who are upset with him you know? It's just a tough situation all around. And while there are no curses I am aware of for switching jerseys, the track record for franchise quarterbacks who return for a final season with a different team is not stellar. Actually, the quarterbacks usually do alright, but the team doesn't necessarily.

Ok excellent, I'm glad you read the page back when it was the real deal. And yeah, I think you are right; not every single player suffered drastic declines, but still....the evidence was creepy enough to warrant some consideration. I agree that Favre should be followed with extreme zeal and that is going to be tough with the Jets because I only know like two players on their whole team. It's terrible. Like I said, I don't even HATE them, I feel NOTHING for them, which is much worse. And they don't even play Green Bay this year. Also, Minnesota would have been the greatest thing ever!!!!!! Imagine Favre + Adrian Fucking Peterson! AND SEASON OPENER VS. GREEN BAY! A Rodg vs. Favre! That game would have gotten ratings up the buttcheek!

Yeah, it's scary stuff. I wish you would have seen the link a couple weeks ago when I first sent it, because damn wikipedia consolidated their pages. They used to have a separate Madden Curse page, which was what I tried to link you to, but now they condensed it. The original one went in depth on every player featured on the cover since 1999, and their stats....it was very very eerie. And yes....THE JETS?!?!?? Is there any team I care about less? Seriously, that's terrible. I feel nothing for that team, it's going to be hard to root for them even WITH Favre.

Yes, yes, we definitely are. I share your anger and frustration. I can't imagine him playing for anyone other than Green Bay. And even beyond that, I am a little nervous for Brett Favre with regards to the "Madden Curse", the history of which is well-documented here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madden_curse

I definitely do. But what's with this 'last' business? And why does it feel like that's been happening a lot lately? And do you think the last.fm beta thing is as awful as I do?

Archie's fans are vicious. I thought they'd be staying up way past their bedtime, putting in hundreds of votes each for this kid. I do sort of feel bad for him though because you know his dad probably kicked his ass after that. Ah well. Good to see America still has it's head on straight.
