Unfortunately I'm going to be out of town for this, but it may be an ideal intro to Fitz: https://www.stubwire.com/event/hundredwatersgems/fitzgeralds/houston/7724/?referral=fitzlivemusic.com

Same with you and Machinedrum. The first song - Gunshotta has such an amazing old school garage/grime atmosphere. I downloaded the Darkside album like a week ago but I haven't given it a serious listen. I really like Nicolas Jaar so I expect to like this project too and I might do it today. As for Forest Swords, keep in mind that their first EP - Dagger Paths is also pretty good.

Well. thank you sir, will do! Machine Drums older albums are also pretty good from what I remember - more glitchy but good. Also if you too are looking for something new - Id definitely recommend Forest Swords last album - it's one of the best atmospheric albums and probably my aoty so far :)

Hello michaelmcguire! Great musical taste! I need to check out some of the artists in your library. I am curious to know what you would think of my friends' band, MANKIND: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bedN-v9QMwc . Cheers from Sweden

Same here, deep down I know that the tour is probably not going to happen. Another big problem is that I live in eastern europe so even if they decide to tour for some reason, it would still be far far away. Totally agree about The Underachievers - it's a great mixtape and it's properly done - no dj's screaming, 320 kbps, original production and all that. They do need to improve their lyrics but it was still a pretty solid tape. It would be really interesting if they decide to work with somebody from brainfeeder like FlyLo. Imma have to check Nick Cave since i've always ignored his music for some reason so yup - Thanks :). So far, i've been really digging the debut album by Illogic and Blockhead - Capture The Sun, the lyrics are great and i've always loved Blockhead's production. Evenings - Yore and also Charles Bradley's - Victim Of Love - a great modern funk album. There are tons of other interesting releases tho :D

Good man! I remember I saw Eluvium live a few years back, I'd never heard of the guy. He was supporting Explosions in the Sky and we saw this one guy with a guitar, a laptop and a loop pedal rock up, sit down and blow our minds with this ungodly ambient noise. Been a massive fan ever since, still trying to justify buying his super limited edition LP 'Life Through Bombardment' which is essentially a collection of all his songs, its really expensive though. If you like him, you should look into Helios (start with the album 'Eingya'), Geotic ('Mend'), The Sight Below ('Glider') and maybe some more droney stuff like Belong ('October Language') and Emeralds ('Does It Look Like I'm Here?'). If you're a fan of that - shameless self-promotion coming up - I'd say give Hammock Beats a listen, its a wee blog a couple of us started a year or so ago. It has all this kind of stuff and a fair bit more, if you ever get a spare minute give www.hammockbeats.tumblr.com or facebook.com/hammockbeats a go.

Yeah I'm the same, a few of the tracks are really class but it kinda loses its way a bit. I can't comment on past releases though, since I've never listened to any before this third album - maybe its about time. Yeah mate, I'm slowly working my way through your charts. Glad to see some Eluvium in there, absolutely love Matthew Cooper.

Definitely mate, I haven't been this much into a young hip-hop crew since I listened to '93 til Infinity', possibly Earl too. Sweet charts, loving the Pavement and Fucked Up. What do you reckon to the new Crystal Castles album?

Hah I don't know, they manage to pull it off though I guess. I just wish they'd stop going back to the exact same lyrical content a bit. Still a really, REALLY impressive mixtape too, it's just so relentless.

Just listened through it again, it's actually flawless. Apart from the 'smoke weed herb shuttles enlighted enlighted enlighted'-type lyrics, it's just banger after banger. Their flow is so fluid too. I think this is the first time I actually played the whole album through without replaying Philanthropist over and over.

It's not letting me reply with anything substantial so I'm sorry if it's actually just a delay and your shoutbox gets inundated with billions of identical copy-and-pasted replies.

Likewise man, godly charts. What's the new Joy Formidable like? I've always found their music a bit too inoffensive but the frontwoman is my future wife so I'm keeping tabs.

Yeah, they definitely are, and they are amazing live. Nope, would love to go tho. But my first festival in USA is going to be the Austin Psych Fest (hopefully going in a couple of years), unbeliveable lineup every year.

Hello! Thanks for the add, I find you're taste in music superb! Umm, most norwegians are douchbags to be honest, but there are some of us that are cool. (eyy kinda sounded like a douch there)

if you're into ambient music you really can't go wrong with "and their refinement of the decline" and "the ballasted orchestra". they're perfect for reading/working/thinking/sleeping
