I agree, and I think volunteering might be a good idea for me as well. I'm totally psyched for Guided by Voices though considering I've never seen them live. I might go to Bear in Heaven if I can convince my friends when we're on Main St. anyways.

I'm pretty mad I missed arcade fire in st. paul. Oddly enough, my scrabble after three weeks looks like it my be up working again. The scrobble is best part about this site for the most part. Wolf Parade is in Iowa city next thursday, but not sure I'm too crazy about missing class the next day. Have you heard whether they're good live?

dude dude dude dude dude dude Okay, so you know how sometimes there's a band you know about but never were really into and then one day you listen to them on a whim and you're like "Holy Shit they are good" and then you download the rest of their albums and you are like "How did I know about this band for years and never realize they were this fucking awesome?!?" dude The Pixies... so good.

So my friend Jesse is really into metal and really hard heavy music (he's really into Opeth) and usually hates everything that most people classify as "indie," and for the most part disliked the Arcade Fire. So I played him "My Body is a Cage" and he was like "This is so good, what the fuck." Metalheads: even they have to admit that that one song by Arcade Fire is fucking excellent.

Okay. Thank you for solving my musical dilemma. The Meat Puppets were indeed awesome live--they made very silly faces--and so were Dead Confederate!!! p.s. I sent some silliness to the Tracey's in Cedar Falls, which I know is not the right address for you and CT, but let me know if it gets to you safely!

So I have come to realize ho completely cut off from the rest of the musical world I am. I was visiting some friends the weekend before last and they were listening to this band that I have never heard of, and so I got the CD from them and was like, "damn, this shit is good. I'm surprised that there aren't more people going crazy about this." Only to realize tonight that Oracular Spectacular was the 2nd most played album on lastfm of 2008 and that people had gone crazy for MGMT like, a fucking year ago and I missed the whole thing.
