Hey! I saw that you're going to Coachella and wanted to let you know about my new blog, www.coachellafestival.tumblr.com. Every day for 99 days my blog will feature one artist playing at the upcoming Coachella festival. I've already got a few posts up, so you can check them out and decide if what I'm writing is up your alley. I'm definitely no music expert myself, but what I really wanted to do here is create an information center where you can access basic artist information, third party reviews, music videos, and song downloads conveniently in one place. Researching over a hundred artists involves a lot of work, so I've done the work for you. Happy listening!

Favorite album released this year would hands down have to be Alex Turner's Submarine EP. As for last year, hmmm does it need to be released last year? This is extremely difficult. I know exactly what artist had a great impact last summer. I can't exactly pin point a specific album. Well, actually I can. Emmure's Good Bye to the Gallows. It helped me surpass the anger I felt when me and my ex best friend decided to end our friendship. She meant a lot to me, so that album was most likely the most important album of last year.

Cut Copy is pretty good. It takes me back to 2006, when I was extremely into freestyle, electric-funk, and electronica. Do you like Kraftwerk? They pretty much pioneered all the electric music we hear today. Listen to "We are the Robots" or "the robots" (Fav song) There's a German version and English. Although, both are quite great.

I must say I enjoyed Round and Round. It sounds almost familiar. I can't really give more input on the other song since my co-worker thinks it is fine to have his elevator music playing out loud. That makes it hard to concentrate on the other song. So I will have to wait until I get home. Sigh. and my left head phone is broken. -__-

It's located in Echo Park on Sunset. They have free shows every week. Pretty solid place, although its quite small. So I got my FYF ticket there for $37. Better than buying it online and paying all those "service fees" The Purple Bottle was actually the first song that I really really enjoyed ( more like loved ) from Animal Collective, so I'm glad you like it :)

I got there for their last song unfortunately. I really wish I would have been there to hear Promises, as that is my favorite song by them. Did they play Dammit Anna? I love love love that song ha. Oh FYF will be awesome, I am 99% sure I'm going haha. As long as I get the tickets I can say I am for sure attending. Warped is next next Sunday, can't wait for that although this years line up isn't nearly as great as last years or 2009. Animal Collective... I'm glad you enjoyed the tracks I selected. They happen to be my favorite, although I forgot to mention The Purple Bottle ( Stevie Wonder version ) Soo good!

Ah, Merriweather is such a great album. Quite possibly my favorite and yes, I know, I know, usually people are always "against" the newer material for any band, but I think that album is beyond great. I think Strawberry Jam would be a great starting place, Sung Tongs, and then possibly Fall be Kind. For Strawberry Jam, I recommend For Reverend Green, Chores, Peacebone. For Sung Tongs: Leaf House, We Tigers. For Fall Be Kind: Bleed, What would I want? Sky.
