No.305 has provided a remix of sorts in a new EP by Kentaro Yanagita. If we could explain it we would: http://www.hearjapan.com/store/album_info/its_a_beautiful_day_2

Yes, you're right! The compatibility is not very essential. My friends here have mostly a low compatibility to me but I regard them as a spring of inspiration to my music taste. Which may not be so stable as you've claimed. I've seen a movement of my taste to more punk rock, ska and alternative rock in the last months where I was listening to rock and pop before...In the last one or two weeks I've dicovered russian music, which I downloaded from last.fm. Always listening to the same music is boring. So, to be curious about new and/or other music as you do has to be seen positive :-) Keep on to be curious!

Oh yes, it's really a challenge to find the personal top artist in a chart with 4795 artists :-) Usually im analysing just the top 50 of a user, everything else would be an evening filling program :-D OK, there may other artists we have in common, but Jean Sibelius was the only one I heard more often than the others. Your charts are interesting though! Happy listening and greetings from Germany :-)

Drop it, please. I know you are trying to be constructive, but I'd really rather talk about something else.

ditto :) neighbours (such as yourself) have been a really useful tool these years, there's so much to learn from other people's flavour of music.

interestinngggg. william basinski is really nice! you should try to get the disintegration loops, they're very soothing and relaxing. it's ideal for rainy weather and wandering/aimlessly driving... i really like to just use the website rainymood lately though so it can rain whenever i want! but yeah, i can't explain the disintegration loops very well so here's the back story, it's very interesting, i think at least: http://thelibrary.hauntedink.com/reviews/basinski-disintegration.html

Ohh I understand, yes, I do like music with that "grit and dirt", and I dislike how so many people feel that it needs to be removed. That's neat that he worked with different bands :) I think Squarepusher is guilty of that showing off. He does have a lot of good music as well, but some of it seems like he just wants to prove how quickly he can play a bass guitar =/

I haven't been bothered by music being too polished, or a showoff of skill etc yet, but I think that as I listen to more and more music I may become that way. Discovering new music is a great feeling :] Yep the Amélie ost is one of the best soundtrack I've ever heard :D It captures the mood of the movie while also having great compositions, and a wide variety of styles. I see Olaibi is not very popular D: they need more recognition. Looking at it as another world to visit is a great way to enjoy the sounds ^_^ music can tell a story sometimes too, just with noises, it's amazing

That's a great description, I agree : ) I'm glad you like it. If you want to get more of his stuff I recommend The Garden of Brokenness and Melancholia, they're my favorites. I'm listening to Svarte Greiner and it is wonderful =) I really like the music you listen to, great taste.

Wow, those were some great songs! Thank you for introducing me to them :) I will definitely get some more music by those artists. The John Fahey song kind of reminded me of this, which is one of my favorite songs at the moment. Moondog sounds like little else I have heard before. The closest I can think of is Sun Ra. I'm reading his Wikipedia right now, he has an interesting history. I should really listen to some more jazz, I like what little I have heard. I have heard of Jason Forrest. He has an interesting style :) and that OLAibi song reminds me of the Spyro 1 OST by Stewart Copeland, kinda (yeah they're pretty different :P). Those songs you linked me to made me think about how much music I haven't discovered yet, entire genres I've ignored. How are you liking the river?

Hmmm, I don't see William Basinski in your charts. Maybe you'll like him. Try his album "The River". Do you have asuggestion for me? :)

englishtime, no swedish signs on this heathen university keybosard i'm using at the moment. extensive musical taste 4 life, there's way too much of great sounds to limit oneself to a few genres only. and way too many contradictions in a progressing human nature. if it comes to ulver - i'm sure you're gonna like their music. lots of droning, trip-hoppish sounds on "perdition city" album. ok, cutting this crap, i sound like groupie... which i'm not ;) btw, it's a relief you didn't lose your respect for my eclectism seeing kent in my charts. and some other lesser bands i temporarily fall for now and then. anywayz dan, have a lovely day~

hej. wow, är jag det ;) glad iaf du tycker om henne, pati är en av polens bästa exportartister så att säga ;) om jag får välja för dig, kolla ulver - shadows of the sun och kveldssanger album för nåt lugnt & meditativt (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTsx3zBjwYY). blood inside för något tyngre & elektroniskt (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Yh02Krbs2I). plattor för resa in i sig själv, och dessutom är ulver som helhet den viktigaste gruppen för mig - musikmässigt och existentiellt sett, flyttat ulvarna även före pink floyd. till sist, om du diggar nick cave, rekommenderar rome - flowers from exile (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxwnfCLZRHg). har en massa andra som strömmar genom huvet nu men vill inte spamma. det får räcka. lots of love for this accidental message, certainly brightened up a morning after an overly dark night.

I was given 'The Saga Of Mayflower May' as a gift and the reaction was something like "Nice, but meh". I'll check out the other you mentioned. Last.fm has been recommending her to me for ages now, so there has to be something of hers that strikes me. I'm glad Soap&Skin's working for you. I had the fortune of catching her show in Dublin last year and she was wonderful. btw, I'm adding you if you don't mind. *grins*
