Hey there, how's it going? I've been accepted in a MD program in Brazil, and I couldn't be happier. It reminded me of our messages.

Oh, that's awesome. I guess having a MD really helps. I love the thrill of it all when it comes to teaching kids and I also end up having so much fun! :) Happy New Year's!

That's great, actually. I can't teach at universities yet because I'm still studying for my Master's Degree, and it is a requirement in Brazil. I love teaching in general, specially children from the 5th, 6th and 7th grades. They're so fun to teach. English has been a part of me for most of my life, so I guess I might as well use it for a good cause.

Oh, it's been a long while, huh? Well, I guess I can say much has changed over the years, but things are still busy. Since I'm a teacher, I work a ton of hours a day, but I like my occupation. What about you? I was checking up our previous messages, however I don't recall where you're from. I'm from Brazil, if you don't remember it as well.

Sorry about the late reply. Happy Xmas! I teach English at regular schools in Brazil and I also have some private adult students. What about you?

Sorry for the late reply but as usual things have been crazy. Have you heard "so sad so sexy" by Lykke Li?

I cried so hard watching the movie and Sufjan brought me to tears in the ending. lol Both actors are straight men and I just couldn't believe them. They're incredible actors.

For some reason I never got the email notifications about your posting on my page, unless I never saw it in my inbox... Anyway, glad I am not replying to you TOO late! What is your new job? Congrats! I thought I had asked you forever ago what you did (you studied English or Literature?) but when I tried to go thru comments I couldn't seem to find any of the old ones so I do apologize for repeating myself! What TV series do you watch? I am currently working a few part time jobs now and am holding them down until I can find something better that pays more... I am *RIGHT NOW* working as a behavioral therapist at a center to help kids with autism.

Well I tend to agree too... I mean who DOESN'T want to visit Italy, etc? LOL. It's just well known more for tourism and their scenery more than anything else. I think they're Irish Catholic too, and one of his brothers went to Ireland for some time... Plus they are all musicians (which is cool) so I guess they really wanted to visit the birthplace of Mozart, etc. which I would go to Europe for that (and Russia!) as well

I had a friend who had money and his family and he would travel to Czech Republic, Austria, Italy etc a lot and always told me stories of their trips and showed me pictures... But they were the typical American family that would only tour Europe and the Caribbeans... I don't think I've ever heard them talking about visiting other countries that are still beautiful but not as "Westernized" if that makes sense (i.e. South America, Africa, Asia, etc) Probably just wanted to stick within their comfort zone lol

I want to go to the Amalfi coast, but really all of Italy LOL that's been a dream of mine for a long time... I am currently a graduate student. I am studying counseling and help adults with disabilities (specifically, autism). I don't know Japanese, but my parents do pretty fluently. My mom used to teach me when I was very little but I don't know a lot of it anymore, mostly just extremely basic words and characters.

Wow, I bet it is beautiful I've always wanted to see Istanbul and the Aegean Sea... and I can only imagine what south Turkey looks like! lol what is the island called? I wish I had a summer home by the beach! do you have pics? what are you studying at school, where do you work or what do you do? I used to travel when I was younger with my family... I've been to Taiwan b/c my family is from there, Japan b/c I was born there, some parts of Canada, California, the east coast on the United States since I used to live in Massachusetts, Florida, Hawaii, Colorado and New Mexico.

Haha I bet! I feel like food everywhere there are healthier options and of course, not so healthy options. I usually eat pretty healthy but living here in America where mostly everything is fried and fast food or takeout doesn't really get to be beneficial so I try to eat and then stay active as much as possible but even then it's hard to stay active when it's like 100 degrees here...

Yes, I figured that was the case... Western Turkey is probably more European just because it's closer to Europe (obviously) and Eastern Turkey is probably a bit different. I've yet to learn a lot more about the Islamic culture but like I said, I absolutely LOVE Islamic/Moroccan art and the architecture from Turkey is just awesome plus I am sure the food is good I really want to try Turkish food lol and yes pandas are freakin' adorable!! Esp baby pandas haha

That is awesome, "Cosmos" does look very breathtaking. I've always had a fascination for stars and outer space and just how stunning the night sky is. I love looking at the moon too. "Life" sounds fantastic then, if it's about wildlife and survival of the fittest. That is something I have always been really interested in, is how animals and insects, biodiversity as a whole, survive out in the wild (without human contact, of course, LOL humans piss me off)! And of course, I am a sucker for gorgeous cinematography... I was watching another documentary called "Wild China" on Netflix too. Don't know if you're into Asian culture but it's about wildlife (pandas, tigers, certain monkeys, etc) all throughout China. That is just one that I recently watched but of course, knowing me, I have so many on my To-Watch list... If I need a break from my school assignments I just end up watching documentaries that interest me instead LOL

Yes - my dad went to Turkey for business a few years back and brought some beautiful souvenirs plus how can you NOT want to visit the Mediterranean coast, it's always been a lifelong dream of mine. I actually have not seen Cosmos yet, but it is on Netflix and looks very interesting. I like any documentary by Herner Werzog, Anthony Bourdain, and lately I watched Virunga (also on Netflix). I am a fan of animal and nature documentaries... Have you heard of The Blue Planet and Planet Earth??
