Description
It was one of THE break through EPs of last year, Burek001.
The unstoppable Bulgarian acid meister KiNK contributed 2 tracks, Leko and Yako, while Chris Duckenfield and Pytzek and his homey, Homeboy, were on remix duties. And what an EP it was! Gaining huge praise and support from across the spectrum of forward thinking DJs, from folks as diverse as Midland, Red Rack’em, Jimpster, Efdemin, Deep Space Orchestra, Aera, Till Von Sein, Sei A, Quarian, Ben Watt, Milton Jackson, Franklin Da Costa, Giom, Soul Clap and Tim Sweeney, Burek showed the world, yet again, that the future of foward-thinking house music lies in the East.
So The Gathering continues it’s drive to highlight regional house talents and to bring the best, and not necessarily the most hyped, house DJs from across Europe to Budapest with a visit all the way from Zagreb by Pytzek, head honcho of Burek Records.
Pytzek has been a cornerstone of the underground house scene in Croatia for over a decade. As one of the leaders in the local Croatian scene, he has been responsible for club residencies in several parts of the country, a pioneering radio show on Proton and has been the driving force behind the ahead-of-their-time bookings of Jimpster, Raresh, Secret Sundaze, Seth Troxler, Magda, Efdemin and Chris Duckenfield, as well as supporting DJs as well known as LTJ Bukem, Guy Called Gerald and Richie Hawtin. He currently co-organises both the SIRUP club and the SIRUP festival, which played host in 2011 to the likes of Hot Chip, Ewan Pearson, Levon Vincent, Tevo Howard, Jus Ed, Jimpster, Chris Duckenfield, Ark and Dandy Jack.
With the next two releases on Burek due for release in the coming months and already gaining praise from the best in the business, plus with KiNK playing at Merlin next week, this is your first opportunity to see why the long forgotten East of Europe is now the creative driving force behind some of the most forward looking music in the world of electronica.
Supporting Pytzek will be:
Tamas Fiel (freakyhouse.eu, Slow Down - Tilos Radio)
Rene Mascarpone (random surprise, Cabaret, Loud!Society, Hotel Horth Pole - Tilos Radio)
Faktor X (Hairy, Audiomatique, Monoid, Traffica)
And in the salon?
Joe Bonez (Black Country Route, Alphabet Soup - Tilos Radio)
Crimson & Chrom (ikz.hu, Lick The Click!)
Nationalities, styles, DJs and crews come together once more... looking forward to see you there!
