I am yet to delve into her catalogue (feeling kinda overwhelmed) but Crimson is already one of my favourite albums of all time <3

I really hope they'll add lacquer remasters for her 90s stuff. Can't wait to see UNBALANCE+BALANCE on spotify :(

We are lucky to be so well served with such variety. I feel like japan is just now coming to realize her greatness.

looks like theres now two versions of the the 2023 remasters of both fushigi and crimson with one version being a "one disc" version and the other having the instrumental album... get ready spotify users who are looking into getting into mother cause you'll be getting strokes by just scrolling through her discography page !!

if you don't care about messed tag scrobbles I recommend you to listen the 2023 remasters since they're way superior than the 2012 ones. the version with instrumentals only added don't matter unless you also want to hear the instrumentals ofc..

Goddess, grant my wish to hear you at your prime in an '80s nightclub, onegaishimasu.

i agree and those singles along with her televised performances i consider to be the greater achievement in japanese modernity..................i fear people still havent woken up to their import and vitality.....she should be recognized as the singer and performer of the apocalyptically erotic tango noir or the tragic actress of nanpasen and not as the self effacing singer of fushigi which seems to me to be an aberration in her career................

you said nothing but facts !! the perfomances and her reinventing her image and tbh to a much greater extent than madonna when you think about it, ie. akina having a genre roulette from idol kayo/city pop to latin music to ethereal wave/gothic rock influenced music to aor to 80s dance to ac/sophisti-pop at the end of the 80s decade!! as well as having certain outfits depending on which single she perfomed/promoted it's crazy. yet it's disappointing but kinda expected that a lot of attention is put to fushigi mainly for it's experimentation which is fine ig but the main issue is that people end up missing out on her singles especially her 80s singles since most of them aren't even on her albums and the singles are so varied yet so wildly consistent and ofc very fun to replay a lot. her post-80s material is kinda underrated imo, the albums may not be as strong as her 80s albums but there are some gems like unbalance+balance, la alteracion, shaker, and resonancia (imo)!

basically everything starting from meu amor e... until liar. i think they are interesting in their emotional complexity and every single has gem like intensity and conceptual theatrical qualities... its not as obvious as something like fushigi which attracts the post punk crowd

Chegou a discografia quase completa de Akina Nakamori no Spotify e Apple Music. Pelo menos a fase da Warner está completa lá, com álbuns, singles e EPs. O bom é que no Apple Music dá pra comprar os álbuns.

The production on "Utahime" is very interesting as well, an amazing cover album, her albums from the 90s are delicious but they are very underrated and deserves the hype that her 80s output has!
